Now that the election is over, I've made a decision. I've been on the sideline for too long and now that the American people have validated the administration and prosecution of the war it is time for me to accept the responsibility of that outcome.
I am reupping for duty in the U.S. Army.
The watchword for this nation is now 'sacrifice.' The units overseas are exhausted, the manpower issues are about to reach critical mass, and the situation in Iraq will take the next ten years to stabilize.
Even though I am 46, the Army will accept me because of my prior service. For many my age this isn't possible however when I spoke to the recruiter this afternoon he told me that many of the young men and women who are interested in joining are dissuaded by their parents - my contemporaries.
It is time for these parents to understand that the country has risen and mandated a call for sacrifice and whether they are Democrat or Republican, conservative or liberal it is time to heed that call, the future of the republic depends on it.
C'mon, man, you didn't have to do that. If you would have just waited a few months, President Bush would have drafted you, me and everyone under retirement age.
Seriously, way to go and kudos.
You rock!
Best wishes and Godspeed to you. We are blessed to have men like yourselves who are willing to make the sacrifice!
I would guess something in the area of aviation?
Good luck and God speed.
God Bless you!!!!
Godspeed and thank you.
Thank for your service!

Thank you for your continuing service.
Thank you for your prior service, and for your willingness to defend our country.
Good luck I finished my last tour age 41.

As for young men and women being "dissuaded" by their parents from joining, they need to take their futures into their own hands. When I decided to join the Marine Corps at age 17, my mother tried to dissaude me to the point of hysteria and initially refused to sign her permission. But I held firm and when my mother realized that this is what I wanted to do, she relented. As it was, I was only a few months away from being able to sign up on my own. What I'm saying is that our young men and women should not let their parents dictate their lives.
GO ARMY!!!!
I thought this was a great idea...until I checked your personal page! Whoever those two little ones are...they are obviously much loved by you, and love you back a lot! Stay home and take care of them...THAT'S the most important job for you right now.
God Bless! This is a FANTASTIC post to read. I wish you well, and will keep you and your brothers in prayer!

I agree dude, you've done your time. Things aren't as bad as MSM is making it out to be. You watch, in the next few weeks, things are going to start going mysteriously well in Iraq. Now that NBC, CBS, ABC etc.. now know we're behind our presidents actions, negative reporting might alienate us...bad for business. Wait and see what happens.
Thank you. God bless you and your family.
Best of luck to you. God bless.
God's abundant blessings to you.
It's guys like you that make our nation great. Thank you!!
Maybe it's the lack of sleep, roller coaster day yesterday, or joy about the victory... but I keep filling up when I read these posts. This is about the 10th one this hour that has gotten me all teary. I guess I just love our country so much and I am relieved to know it is in good hands for four more years.
