Only Barely
In an election that the incumbent overcame a national recession and the damage that was committed economically and socially on 9/11, he should have won hands down on his reelection bid instead he won only by three percent.
With the other candidate at a time of war and national emergency having been a known traitor to his country meeting secretly with the enemy while still in uniform, a man that was so vain that while in the battlefield and fellow soldiers were dying daily this man had his crew film re-enactments of missions for his future political aspirations. A man that openly campaigned handing over US sovereignty and our nations protection to the UN. A man that gave perjured testimony before congress that gave aid and comfort to the enemy and yet running against such a man the incumbent only won by three percent.
This was an election where the challenger was a traitor, he boasted of having foreign leaders that wanted him elected as president, he accepted (By not publicly denouncing the endorsement of foreign officials Germany, France North Korea, Al Keida, Osama Bin Laden. It was an election that the challenger accepted (By not soundly rejecting) foreign influence and money in the election, It was an election where the challenger accepted (by not rejecting) 100 million dollars from foreign billionaires to try to influence the outcome of the election. And despite it would seem the efforts of the entire world to unseat George W. Bush despite the threat of terrorist attacks against those who would support the president despite all of Hollywood all of the press 51% of the American people rose to the occasion to stand with the president.
Without the courageous efforts of the swift boat vets and the rest of the Vietnam veterans that stood up in our nations greatest time of need since World-War-Two we salute you for without your gallant efforts all would have been lost for with your testimony and the reopening of old wounds for all to see the 3% margin of victory was achieved.
To the efforts of Conservative talk show hosts across the nation whos tireless efforts in the trenches day in and day out I say that we have been greatly enriched. For without you at least 100-200 stories perpetrated upon the nation by the liberal press would not have been overturned We thank you for without your efforts tens of thousands would not have been wrenched from the jaws of liberalism. Without your effort we would have been lost.
To the efforts of bloggers like Jeffshead and many others who in the 11th hour when Dan Rather CBS and other networks put out blatantly false documents with the purpose to derailing the Presidents reelection bid at a time when a candidate on their own would not have been able to respond, Without your work into the night we would have lost.
Without the 10% of democrats that stood in the election with the president without the 24% of Jews that stood with the president without the 14% of blacks that stood with the president we would have lost And these people need to be specially commended, for many have reported being alienated by families and friends and even their churches to stand for what was right. Your selecting duty honor and country above the shifting tide of political correctness and liberalism is now historic. For many of us we can walk away from this election and go on with our lives but with you this has been a life changing choice that you will have to live with for years to come. I thank you for your service to your country and trust that you will find people of like vision that you can exchange ideas with.
Without the security moms we would have lost, without the Christian coalition and the religious right showing up en mass we would have lost.
My point is that there were so many people and groups tireless labors that contributed to George Bushs victory, without their stands and tireless efforts we would have lost. And secondly after having exerted everything that we against such an awful candidate as John Kerry we only won by three percent.
And most of all I thank God for his grace for allowing such a coalition to stand against the onslaught of Hollywood, Liberals, Homosexuals, the Liberal Media, the Terrorists, the UN, and seemingly all the nations of the world.
It is my opinion that while we have a sweet victory to be savored we have also received a grave warning. 3 % is not a rout 3% is not an overwhelming victory. It is enough to carry the day, but we need to roll up our sleeves and work at the grass roots level one heart and mind at a time to truly win back this nation.
It is further my opinion that we were put in this lamentable position as a nation because for three decades the Church has spent much of their efforts in building for themselves earthly kingdoms, and because of this they have failed to reach out as Gospel commands to the poor the lame and the halt, -- And instead they have preached to the rich and well to do from where they have received the bulk of their finances .
The Church has also mistakenly emphasized changes without and conformity to a outward pharisaical list of dos and donts this opposed to introducing people to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and letting Him handle the all changes within that their converts can be a source of light to their family and community.
The Huns were at our nations gates and they will be back. We have received a temporary reprieve, we can not afford to squander this victory.
:Amen to that! I salute all of our troops, all of the volunteers, and all of my fellow freepers!!!!!!!!
yep
(Jeff Head is a great guy though)
I think our goal must be to reshape public opinion. This election was fought on the premises set by the Dems and the media. The economy is strong and growing, and our efforts internationally are historically unprecidented in success. Yet the election was over a bad economy and a failed Iraq. Important issues like social security, taxes, and cultural issues need to be focused on all the time, so more people understand the facts.
It's not enough to show up every two or four years, run some ads, and win elections. There are major problems in our country due to people not fully understanding the issues. Things are certainly moving in our direction, which is positive, but we should have 5-10% more people on our side.
Look at it this way, in 2000, they say he got less voters than Al Gore. So what he did this time is not only picked up his voters but added enough to beat moveon.org and the other 527s (not to mention Moore's 911) and a lot of attack books. So comparing 2000 to 2004 you see a bigger difference than only 3%.
The Dems have long been portrayed as the party of the little guy, the average Joe, the party that would stand up against the rich. This image was perpetuated by a willing media and co-conspirators such as the labor unions.
Republicans on the other hand were portrayed as the party of the elite, the rich, the oppressors.
But this Republican victory was won at the grassroots level - one voter at a time with a stellar GOTV effort. It was won through the efforts of a heretofore unknown group of vets & POWs we know as the "Swifties". It was won by bloggers, many living here, who turned the MSM's repeated attacks back upon the attacker, turning disadvantage into opportunity. In short, this election was won from the bottom up.
The Dems, on the other hand, clearly showed themselves as the party of the billionaire (Soros et al). The party of the media elite. The party of Hollywood and Rock the Vote. The party that disdains the "flyover red states" that gave Bush the win.
Brilliant point! I would hope that this become crystal clear to the masses.
