Everyone, I agree, there is SOME closure here to that horrible chapter in America's history. But it simply is not the case that the abominations directed at the Vietnam veteran (and ANY military action in defense of freedom and America) are over. Here's what I posted to another thread:
I remember seeing the hippies and protesters when I was a child. I remember the sense of grime and loathing that emanated from them. As I came to maturity, I came to despise their anti-Americanism, their selfishness, the constant arrogance and taking for granted the blessings of God and of their fellow countrymen that protected them, safeguarded their freedom to spit on this country.
And I am jubilant that this country, when given the opportunity to elect another of these Clinton-style Leftists, gave him the thumbs down.
However, these Leftists are only in their 50's and 60's. There are a lot of them and there are plenty of them serving as politicians who could be contenders for office and the presidency over the course of the next 20 years.
There is one waiting anxiously in the wings named Hillary.
Our fight has only begun and we must organize many Swiftvet-type groups and get them started now to defeat any would-be Leftist contenders.
Every time one of them runs who has any chance of winning, it is another of their continued attempts to spit on those soldiers returning from Vietnam, to spit on America and her values.
As long as these Clinton and Kerry types are running for office, we are NOT through defeating them. We must never let America forget what they stood for and continue to stand for.

Dennis admitted that he cried twice today in great relief that our country has been saved. The South and the values of Middle America made the difference. He went on to say that the North once saved our Union; now the South will save it. Wow, beautifully said and how true. As my tag line says: THANK YOU RED STATES!

As he emerged from Constitution Hall for the last time upon the completion of the work, the old man was accosted by a woman who inquired more insistently than politely, "what sort of government have you given us, Mr. Franklin?"
"A republic, madam" came the brusque reply from the old genius, "if you can keep it."
By the grace of God, I believe we just might be able to keep it for another four years.

Imus called the Swift Boat Vets "a bunch of old drunks" this morning.
His partner, whoever he is, called him an idiot for the comment.

This is part of something I posted on another thread:
It is clear, and I suspected it was thus in the past, that 2000 was a tipping of the teeter-todder from left to right but mostly from North to South. The South will only increase in influence as time passes. It is in the process of reclaiming what would have been its place had the Civil War not taken place. It has the climate, water, land, cheap labor and now in the process of getting the population it was denied over time due to civil rights issues.
More and more northerners/westerners are coming in all the time so electoral and parlimentary shifts are taking place in favor of the South. While the incoming will retain some vestige of outside thinking, it will be diluted and their children will have less of it. We will end up with the country we might have had w/o the civil war. It will be interesting to see what it will look like.

Prager is infinitely better than Rush and Rush is very good. Do you know what the national listenership is for Prager?

I think it's important for us all, as we might be moved by a sense of magnanimity to put this behind us, to remember that John Kerry was and is a traitor who stole these men's honor and held it hostage for 33+ years.
And then George Bush liberated that honor, and tossed that traitor's reputation on the ash heap of history.

I heard this today and even Dennis had a hard time speaking for a moment. It brought tears and smiles at the same time to my face. God bless them all.

Taps will be played for the disgusting treatment of my fellow Vietnam Veterans and a hearty and boisterous, Johnny comes marching Home Again....Welcome will only be heard when this nation CLEARLY, LOUDLY and OPENLY makes it so.
The election of GW over the War Criminal and traitorous Kerry, while certainly very good news for all Veterans, including Vietnam Vets, is NOT, IMHO, the OBVIOUS vindication or the long awaited Welcome Home.
It may be 'metaphorically' by in reality it is NOT!

I missed this.(Rush and Dennis are on at the same time in my area-Darn!) I did hear the opening monologue of Dennis's show and it was absolutely the best analysis of what Bush's victory means. Outstanding. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be archived. I hope Dennis plays it again. Everyone should hear it.
God Bless our Viet Nam Vets. I still have a hard time with the fact that anyone that did what Kerry did would even get 1 vote in our nation, but I guess that's the way it is. Too many nit wits here.
I was praying that if nothing else, Kerry would be defeated for the sake of the Viet Nam Vets. Thank You Lord. God Bless you Viet Nam Vets . Bush would not have his victory if it wasn't for you. You protected our country and our military from having Kerry as Commander in Chief.
Thanks for your hard work and sorry for your having to open up the wounds again. But you did our nation a great service . Kerry really is Unfit for Command. The country needed to know this . I thank you for informing those of us who were too young to know what happened. Again God Bless you and your families.
