State Rep tough contest results (not including Wayne County)

District 37 (Farmington Hills) - Gun Grabber Aldo Vagnozzi(D) unfortunatly keeps his seat defeating Bill Largent(R) 26,726 to 20,465.

District 39 (West Bloomfield, Commerce) - David Law(R) beat Michael Schwartz(D) for Marc Shulman's old seat. 24,988 to 21,613. GOP defense

District 52 (West and North Washtenaw County, part of NE Ann Arbor) - Pam Byrnes(D) beat Joe Yekulis(R) for Gene DeRossett's old seat. 29,732 to 24,664. Dem pickup.

District 55 (South Washtenaw and West Monroe) - Kathy Angerer(D) possibly upset Matt Milosch 24,284 to 23,974. Dem piick up if it stands.

District 56 (North Monroe) Herb Kehrl(D) edged out John Manor (R) 21,551 to 20,670 for Randy Richardville's old seat. Dem pickup.

District 57 (Lenawee) Dudley Spade(D) defeated David Abraham(R) 25,180 to 17635. Dudley's brother Doug previously held this seat.

District 62(Calhoun) - Mike Nofs(R) defeats Lynne Haley(D) 20,936 to 18,290 to keep his seat.

District 64(Jackson County including city) - Rick Baxter(R) defeats Martin Griffin(D) 18,785 to 18,406 if the numbers held up. Clark Bisbee held this seat. GOP Defense.

District 65(Jackon County, Eaton Rapids) - Leslie Mortimer(R) defeats Mike Simpson(D) 19,974 to 18,898 to defend her husband Mickey Mortimer's seat.

District 67(South Ingham) - Dianne Byrum(D) defends her seat in a sleeper race against Beth Chandler 25,702 to 21,201. This should be ours when term limits hit Byrum.

District 83(Port Huron and Sanillac) - John Espinoza(D) beats Paul Muxlow(R) in a seat that is usually solid Republican. Sanilac County is 60% GOP. I heard that the campaign there was a disaster.

District 85(Shiawasee County) - Dr. Richard Ball(R) defeated Mike Powers(D) 23,189 to 20,007 for Larry Julian's old seat. GOP Defense.

District 91(Muskegon County) - Incumbent David Farhat(R) defeats Nancy Frye(D) in a rematch of 02 22,353 to 20,641.

District 97(Clare, Gladwin, part of Bay) - Tim Moore(R) defeats incumbent Jennifer Elkins(D) 22,320 to 20,883. GOP Pickup.

District 103(Ogemaw, Roscommon, Iosco Missaukee) - Joel Sheltrown(D) defeated Bruce Rendon(R) 25,536 to 19,645. Dale Sheltrown(brother?) held the seat before him.

District 106 (NE Michigan) - Matt Gillard(D) beat Richard Fortier(R) 25,830 to 18,497 to keep his seat.

District 107 (Eastern UP, North Lower) - Gary McDowell(D) beat Walter North(R) 22,266 to 19,330. North got an NRA F rating, and that probably killed him there. I'm not sure why he got it since as a state senator, he voted for CPL's. This was a pickup of Scott Shakleton's seat. Dem pickup.

District 108 (Southern UP) - Tom Casperson(R) beat Dennis Baldinelli(D) 29,680 to 13,618 to keep his seat.

Not good, but we still have a good majority.

What about D-Dale Kildee? He's been in there longer than Methuselah's beard.

Unfortuantly Kildee won big.

Too bad there. Myrah Kirkwood would have been a good congresswoman.
