Edwards Advises Kerry Not To Concede Yet In US Race -AP

WASHINGTON (AP)--Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards counseled John Kerry in a meeting Wednesday against conceding defeat yet, a senior Democrat said, as President George W. Bush held fast to a six-figure lead in make-or-break Ohio.

Kerry's campaign planned a statement by midday, his advisers said. Two of them, speaking on condition of anonymity, said concession seemed simply a matter of time after one last look for uncounted ballots that might close the 136,000-vote advantage Bush held in Ohio.

One senior Democrat familiar with the discussions said Edwards, a trial lawyer, wanted to make sure all options were explored and that Democrats pursued them as thoroughly as Republicans would if the positions were reversed.

Hours after White House chief of staff Andy Card declared Bush the winner, aides to the president said they were giving Kerry time to consider his next step.

He did, in a series of private meetings in Boston, where talk of concession was in the air.

Does this mean sKerry is in an ambulance somewhere?

No. It means this is done solely to monetarily benefit all the lawyers who rearranged their schedules.

This is all about Edwards trying to position himself among 2008 Dem primary voters as the true-blue guy who wanted to fight to the finish.

Yeah, Kerry still has a job in the Senate, for as long as he wants to stay there.

Edwards doesn't have a job anymore. :)

Neither does EX-Senator Thom-ass Daschle. This is truly a great day to celebrate!

Edwards politcal career is over. Also, last night, Ted Kenney IMHO had a heart to heart chat with Kerry to concede.

We have to remember Edwards is a shyster lawyer.

Since he is a shyster lawyer, he is motivated to turn the election into an endless series of court battles.

Why?

He knows a lot of fellow shysters will make fortunes on the legal proceedings.

Though, there is a high probability, Edwards is really frustrated that he is not acting as legal counsel (Edwards also wants to milk the cow for what it is worth).

Clearly, this is a smoke screen for Edwards to retreat to defendable ground in 08.

Edwards is out of his mind. If he wants to have a shot 2008 he can't afford to get caught up in a big cry baby episode. Edwards will have a chance in 2008, not if he turned into a Gore like joke
