Based on yesterday, unless something really changes, they're going to have to be very conservative socially. The evangelical vote was the main reason for victory yesterday.

Yep....but the swifties are the main ones who opened folks eyes and got lots of folks to the polls. No one wanted an absolute known TRAITOR in the WH.

2004 is going to be a "last hurrah" for the evangelical vote. The War on Terror will undermine them in two critical ways: 1)The association of theocratic politics with the enemy ideology and 2)The long-haul effects of being at a semi-war footing will bring "it's the economy stupid" back into fashion for 2008.

The GOP needs to get ahead of this curve. I'm predicting Rudy v Hillary for 2008.
