According to the state of Ohio, The official number of provisional ballots in Ohio is 135,149. With 99% of the Ohio vote counted, Bush leads Kerry by 145,098 votes. Do the math, John Kerry!!!! http://election.sos.state.oh.us/ProvBallots.htm
I have noticed that since I posted this information, the Rosenberg media has turned more pessimistic about Kerry's chances, and have started using the word unrealistic in regards to Kerry's ungracious folly.
Can somebody verify these numbers and be accurate!
Yep. Kerry simply doesnt have a legitimate shot at winning Ohio. Anyone in their right mind knows any challenge to Ohio is based more on anger and resentment, then logic. Blame yourself but don't blame the system.
But, surely, somewhere in the 7th dimension or Hollywood or the math department at Harvard, it's statistically possible for 135,149 to be greater than 145,098!
Bush has a 136,221 vote lead. And supposedly, according to Ohio, the provisional ballot tally is a little over 135,000.
CNN says 250,000 provisional ballots have yet to be counted. Folks, Kerry is going to try and steal Ohio.
I would have hated to be the one that had to change ole dan's depends last nite!!!!!!!!!!!!
A lot of provisionals will be thrown out for no signature. Most will be thrown out because the "voter" was never registered. More will be thrown out because they tried to vote at the wrong polling place etc.
Where are you getting those numbers, look at post #47?
We had to let those that wanted to vote a provisional ballot but they will end up being thrown out as those voting just really had no standing to be voting at all where they voted. These things are a joke and a waste of time.
Could you elaborate please?
My concern right now is how does one verify after the person has voted and departed the validity on invalidity of a provisional ballot.
I can think of all sorts of ways to create mischief a day or two after the election involving provisional ballots. If I can think of them, you can bet the Socialist puke lawyers can think of twice as many ways.
CNN is BSing the world. That "to close to call" green colour they put on Ohio last night was way over doing it. They just want ratings and are a bunch of sore losers.
It is like an absentee ballot -- the envelope is marked with the identity of the voter. Each one has to pass muster at that level. THEN and only then they are removed from the envelope, the envelope destroyed, and counted en masse.
Kerry didn't even catch Bush from the Bush base total. which is around 135,000. But Bush now has the additional votes added to that number from his 33% of the provisionals.
This is a fantasy, a mathematical improbability, and a Rosenberg driven story once again to undercut the Republican President, and offend the voters.
Note to Tim Russert, do you know how dumb you sound when you say Whoever wins Ohio will be the next President? Bush has already won it.

If so, how?
DOn't know. I assume whatever the voter furnishes, showing photo ID, goes on the provy envelope.
Notice that some counties have not reported the number of provisional ballots. They're blank, as distinct from 0
If no ID was required to be shown, Bush could be screwed.
Doesn't the provisional ballot still have to go through a verification as to the voter's qualification? There is a reason why they had to vote on a provisional ballot. Just cause there are 'x' number of ballots doesn't mean they'll all be counted does it?
