The point is whether they're actually counted at all or not.

Obviously less than 20% will even count and they'll probably split 50/50.

step 1, take all 135k provisionals

step 2, sue to have 15k military ballots tossed.

step 3, claim victory.

that's probably the delusional thinking in the Kerry Camp right now...

FINAL OHIO VOTES: 100% Precincts reporting:

GW BUSH 2,794,346

Kerry 2,658,125

Bush wins by 136,221

Provisional ballots = 135,149

Even if ALL provisional ballots go for Kerry (impossible), Bush wins by 1072!

THEREFORE, counting of provisional ballots UNNECESSARY!!

Insurmountable at this point, there is no way Kerry wins!
Bush is elected the President!

The official final spread is 136,221. To count the provisionals the number of provisionals must exceed the spread. It does not. 135,149 is 1072 votes short of the necessary threshold

MSM was trying to come up with any cobination to win, even comparing it to florida. They were so in denial. How does 136,000 votes compare to 537 in florida. It isnt even close! Of course I must also add I took great pleasure in our florida victory. I thought the dems were going to make us pay after 2000? Tisk tisk!

Sorry, nope. Unfortunately, they'll have to count them.

There are still TEN counties without a posted provisional ballot total, that will be in addition to the 135,000. Most are small but Lucas is pretty big. There are sure to be 1000+ more provisional ballots.

I worked at the Polls yesterday in my state and from what I could see about Provisional Ballots you can bet most of them will be thrown out for various reasons.
We had to let those that wanted to vote a provisional ballot but they will end up being thrown out as those voting just really had no standing to be voting at all where they voted. These things are a joke and a waste of time.

Right now, I think it's a matter of time. I just don't see Kerry pulling it out and if by some incredible miracle he does, I'd love to see him explain away Bush getting a majority, not just a plurarity of the popular vote. The overseas markets seem to be confident that Bush has this one, and the consensus among international newspapers is that Bush is "edging close to victory".

Of course.

My only point is that they WILL in fact have to count the provisionals, despite claims to the contrary on this thread, giving Kerry a rope to string his concession out for a very long time.

What else could it be other than the voter was not among the list of registered voters? How is this resolved?

There is no way Kerry pulls it out now!! Those lawyers are going to have to claim some kind of lame fraud.

Kerry and Edwards are starting to act like the spoiled brat losers they truly are.

You are correct.
They do not even have to count them, and an automatic recount only comes with .25%. Blackwell could certify, but he will do it right - he'll not give them a reason to whine for 4 years.

That's why Blackwell puts the number up to 175,000.
