Actually, lawn could be short for lawn cloth and golden jewels could be encrusted in the lawn cloth. How poetic.
They have no golden jewels, or, for that matter, any "jewels" at all. They are cowards, hiding behind masks no matter giving speeches or committing grotesque acts.
