This is a fun map: http://www.nytimes.com/packages/html/politics/2004_ELECTIONRESULTS_GRAPHIC/
I don't ever want to see that horseface again after tonight.
With a Democratic congressional delegation, two Democratic U.S. Senators, and a flaming Democratic queer for a governor, New Jersey stands to be a prime target in the next round of military base closings. Nobody in the national GOP wants to owe this state a damn thing.
somebody dressed Susan Estrich up as if they were going to take her out. Who knew it was possible?
What the hell is up with this?!? FOX and Yahoo already called this for Kerry.
CNN just said NJ is going Bush. True?
Small (generally rural) precincts usually have their results tabulated quicker, since there are fewer votes to tabulate. Rural voters tend to skew Republican. Urban areas take longer to tabulate, due to large numbers of votes. They tend to skew Democrat.
The short answer: The urban precincts haven't posted their results yet.
Listen, if Bush can win NJ I personally promise to drive down from NY every few weeks to pick trash off the turnpike if you're so worried about the GOP owing the state anything.
I've never seen a "rural" part of NJ.
My wife and I are first time Jersey voters so you can add 2 votes to that tally! :) We were stuck in Manhattan for too many years. I remember voting in SoHo and having the nice little old lady campaign worker remarking to me, "Young man, do you know you registered Republican!?!?" the first time I voted there. I registered as an independent in Jersey to make sure they let me vote.
Bush leads NJ? What are you people smoking? No chance whatsoever.
Are they even discussing this on the MSM broadcasts? FOX was all Virginia being so close and being bad for the President. Why are they not talking about the potential bad news for Kerry by being so close in Jersey???
I happened to have grown up in a very rural section of NJ, made Mayberry look like Manhattan, we had a barber...til he died!
You may have to put Connecticut on this watch list as well. It is currently 49-49 very early with 1% reporting. Again, I think Bush is a serious longshot in states like this, but it is interesting to see him be competitive in early returns.
I've never seen a "rural" part of NJ.
I grew up in West Milford, in Passaic county. VERY rural.
