I still feel we are going to win.
Exit polls were wrong in 2000.
They are wrong today.

They sample to at the end of the day predict the results. Thus a part sample both need not predict the same and it must necessarily have a higher standard error.

Keep the faith everyone. Talked to my brother in Florida, the word he is getting from Okaloosa County GOP is that they are very confident Florida is in the Bush column. Also said things look very good for Martinez as well.
As has been said, the Early Exit Polls where all way off in 2000 and 2002 -- no reason to think they are not way off this year.
Everyone around B/C and the GOP is upbeat, it may be a long night, but it will be a good night -- keep the faith!

Bush's fault, and the timing is 'suspicious'.

I've gone hard into cynical mode. Kerry's stolen the election in FL and Ohio. America died this day. RIP.

I'm sure other people have figured this out, but looking at the Yahoo map as of 7:51PST, if Bush takes all the currently pink states, he ends up with 293 EV. And wins re-election.
A lot of things can still go wrong, but I'm starting to feel more relaxed.

I just got home from work. Night ruined by hearing Zogby saying Kerry was going to sweep it, or some such nonsense, several hours ago, based on exit polls. Began getting optimistic while flipping radio stations on the trip home.
Am trying to read through this thread, yikes!! Off to rummage for something alcoholic to toast FR, and hopefully W's victory.
