According to several reputable sources, the Allegheny County GOP HQ in Pittsburgh just had lost power. Because the office building at 125 Seventh Street is without power, telephones, computers, and other office machines are unusable, a huge blow to Bush supporters hoping to remain competitive tonight in this key area of the country.

While it is still not clear the cause of this electrical problem, politics could potentially be a factor.

The Democrat Headquarters across the street and other surrounding buildings are said to be with power...

Can you call a local business and ask them to use their office? Then re-route the phones at Republican office to their number.

Just because the 120 power is out that should not affect the phone lines as they are a 50v DC source unless the phone lines are cut too.

It sounds to me like Kerry's brother is up to his old wire-cutting tricks.

Good point. I think a couple of power generators would probably do the trick for them. The word is out, so I assume that someone here from Pittsburgh is helping them out by now.

If the phone system is computerized (most are) then it's out too.

If this was sabotage, it's also a criminal act.

Electrician freepers need to go to the pittsburgh headquarters and fix the fuses- get them power generators - or whatever it takes to get them up to speed.

A truckload of republican hamster volunteers on treadmills {wearing W04 pins of course) are on route to restore power, help is on the way!

Non-union electrical hamsters for Bush! LOL

(Yes...I've head too much coffee today)

Carry on

Another reason not to use computerized voting machines. Optically scanned paper ballots can easily be marked even if there is no electricity.

Yeah, hamsters on treadmills. I'm glad someone is keeping a sense of humor throughout tonight. It might be more valuable than electricity.
