Put info and links about Tennessee here.
Just voted in Williamson county and there were no lines and only two other voters in the room.
I'm also hearing that Bush signs are being destroyed around Williamson county polling places.
All we saw were Kerry signs at our regular voting place. And this is an overwhelmingly Republican district.
Hey Doug,
Gray Tn, Tri Cities area, turn out is heavy. Just moved here from upland in July. How is David Dreier doing?
I haven't heard how Dreier is doing. I suspect it will be much closer than last time because of John & Ken, but I think he'll win.
How do you like Tennessee?
I am a registered Repub here in Tn. I received a voicemail this morning from the DNC here in TN asking me if I needed a ride to go vote. Furthermore she told me if I had any questions she would be glad to answer.
So.... I called back and told her I voted at 7:00 am for Bush and that the only question I had was how did she obtain my cell phone number? She promptly hung up!
How did the DNC obtain my cell phone number (esp since I am registered Repub)?
I voted early in Kingsport. The turnout has been considered heavy and unexpectedly so.
Thanks for this thread I'm seeing some previously unknown upper east types and am book marking for the furure.
any intense-looking people between the no-campaign line and the polling entrance?
there was one woman scouring every face entering, had no id badge, but did have cigs and a cell phone....
Well it's a very beautiful state. Low taxes. It cost $26.00 to register you vehicle. When you do have to drive you can actually get to you destination in a timely manner. People are very friendly.
I was having lunch at a Wendys after the first or second debate and an older gentleman sat down a couple of tables away he mentioned something about Kerry in the debate. I told him I had not seen the debates because of company (I did not know the lay of the land yet). Next thing I knew he mentioned he listened to Rush and was talking about all the lies from Kerry in the debate. Turns out he was a retired Air Force Colonel. We had a friendly conversation for some time after that. This is not the first time something like this has happened since moving here.
Thanks for the update.
I voted more than a week ago, so my report isn't app;icable to this day's activities.
I also forgot to mention that in order to vote here you have to present a voter registration card or Picture I.D.
Unfortunately, my democrat wife, stepdaughter, stepson, and his live-in girlfriend all voted today. I tried my best to get them to vote for the Constitutional candidate since I knew they would never vote for Bush. The only time my stepson stopped to think was when I explained how a draft could actually be in his future if Kerry is elected!
We don't register by party in Tennessee. If someone made you do that they broke the law.
