Voted around 6:45 in Dupage county. Was the 70th voter in my precinct (not counting the 2000 ballots that were probably preloaded). The only issue I had was the woman asked me to resign my voting slip since my signature which is usually very sloppy did not look enough like the one I had signed when I registered. All I could think was that I hope the same scrutiny is applied in all precincts. I live right across the street from my polling place so I made sure my lawn had plenty of W paraphenalia. Go GW!!!!!
Same here down in Bloomington. We do have a local 'Rat college professor running against our incumbent US Rep. Weller (R).
Will...crawl..across...broken...glass...to...vote...for... Keyes...and...Weller.

Voted at 11 a.m. in Macoupin County, heavy Democratic (no Republicans running for county offices). The only contested races on the ballot are President, Senator, Congressman, and Circuit Judge. Yet, I was number 718, which means about 1/3 of the registered voters in the township had voted by then. Probably looking at a 75-80% turnout. Big turnout in my town, usually means Republican candidates do better. If this is being replicated throughout Downstate, we may have a few surprises tonight.
I took my 5 year-old grand nephew with me (I pick him up from pre-school). He got an "I voted" sticker, and they let him come into the voting booth with me. We use the optical scan ballots, where you fill in the oval.
No one ahead of me in line, so it went quick.
I thought Cabrini Green was in NY (Brooklyn) what am i thinking of??

I early voted on Friday. I had requested and rec'd the application for an absentee ballot. I returned the application the next day. I never rec'd my ballot although it was sent out in Sept. It was a hassle to go vote at the county office, but I did so happily.
Do you live in Chester? I'm in Murphysboro(Jackson County) I know quite a few dems who are voting for W.
I have heard some Bush/Cheney ads today and yesterday on WLS Radio. Does the campaign know something we don't know are are they revving up the base to get out for the benefit of House Reps, like our Phil Crane.
Voted at around 6:45 in East Peoria. No line...no problems. I was a bit concerned about a Kerry sign located right next to the parking lot. It was over 100ft from the polling area, but are they allowed to post signs on public property (I vote at a grade school)? I told the poll workers and they said they'd check it out. Didn't seem hostile or anything. I had on my "Got Freedom? Vote" tshirt. I didn't think to wear flip-flops as another poster suggested.
I voted about 8:30 am and I voted at a Baptist church basement-mostly elderly people live in my precinct. I am one of the few younger single women who own my home in town. There were many pro-Republican signs across the street from the polling place. I was happy to see that but Murphysboro won't make much of a dent nationally and especially against Cook County. But at least I can make a difference in local political races which I think have a good chance of going toward the GOP in most races.
We had some major efforts underway in Peoria yesterday.

Voted at about 7:15 this morning with Mr. Retrokitten in far southern DuPage County. No lines, no id required. People were coming in more frequently when we were leaving. Almost got hit in the parking lot by a lady in a big silver Buick. Other then one election judge who looked to be in his very, very early 20's (he was wearing a shirt and tie, so I tend to believe he was repub) we were the youngest people who were there- both of us are 29.
I "pulled the lever" for Bush, Alan Keyes, and Ray Wardingley (IL-1) (the pubbie going up against the incumbent former black panther Bobby Rush). Voted (R) for everything else, no funny business at about 6:30am. My parents, my in-laws, and my wife all plan to vote later for Bush, Keyes, and Wardingley as well. There were no campaign signs in front of the polling place (a first).
Hoping for the best.
I wouldn't doubt if he voted for Kerry this year.
Cabrini O'Green is a housing project in the near north side of Chicago that is/was a huge eyesore for the city. It used to be about 20 high rise slums filled with crack heads and welfare mothers. Fortunately they started to tear them down in the last several years and there are only about three or four left.
Hubby and I voted at 7:30 this morning, and the polling place was busier than I've ever seen it. Had a new system of voting that replaced the old punch cards.....darken circle next to name, then scan in machine. I liked it much better.
