Lots of Bush people on the corners. I'm in Dekalb, close to 85 and Clairmont.

That sounds a little unusual. How heavy was the Latino/Asian turnout at your precinct?

I didn't find an Alabama thread either - maybe I should start one...In Huntsville it is the same way. I will have to wait to vote after work, but the radio reports are saying the polls are packed.

Everything went very smoothly here in Chatsworth. Just got back and while there were a few other ppl at the polling place, there were no real lines. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. The new machines are pretty nice....downright idiotproof, I'd say. They were following procedure with IDs and there were no problems. Looking good!

I vote in Varnell. I did not have time to vote this morning because the lines were so long. This is also heavy Republican. I will vote after school. Go GW and Johnny.

I vote near Collins Hill HS in Gwinnett County. We've been here since the early 80s. NEVER seen lines like this in Gwinnett. Can't attribute the lines to population growth either -- this area is about 95% built out. So I see this as HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY turnout in 'Pub area.

Good turnout at the courthouse in Ringgold this morning. It's been raining lightly the last hour or so, but local news says it should clear by this afternoon. Another vote for W on the books. My wife will be adding another one this afternoon (BTW, I'm converting her from the Democrat side. She loves Fox News now!).

Peachtree City, Fayette County:

In line at 0630 hrs this AM. 40 folks in front of me. In, voted, and out in 35 minutes. probably 60 to 70 folks behind me when the polls opened at 0700 hrs

Positive ID checks conducted (Good news).

Orderly process.

Cherokee county, Bradshaw district, I waited till 11:00 to vote. There was a line around the side of the fire station but I got in it anyway. After 25 min. got to cast my vote of G.W.Bush! When I walked out the line had disappeared, you could just walk right in! Oh well if the lord calls me home today I have done my job.

I think maybe the other side of Buford Hwy is a different zip. That's where the Latinos are. Intown you can expect a pretty heavy gay turnout no matter what.

I voted w/o a wait. . .though there are some precints that do have lines. That said; I had to show ID; my friend just came over and said she did not have to show any ID; she lives in a 'mixed area. . .where there is public housing as well.

This might explain perhaps the 'not having to show ID. . .I don't know what is actually required here in GA but I have always been asked to show ID.

So. . .wondering if this precint is 'beyond the law'. She votes at the American Legion Post 156 on Warren RD NW /Ward 9. . .Wondering what others in Ga are experiencing. But have to leave right now!

Very high turnout in my northeast Atlanta (2000: 1000 Bush to 600 Gore) precinct.

I had to return at 11 am, because the line at 8 was too long.

One observation to make:

All freeways in Atlanta were light traffic this morning around 8:30 according to news reports I heard. It was attributed to heavy voting. Never heard of this happening before. I85/75 North South very Republican. I-20West side mixed, I-20 East side Cynthia McKinney territory.

You're right on the edge. South of you is heavy Dem, north of you is heavy GOP.

I'm 5 minutes from your precinct.

I-20 West is mixed until you get to Cobb and Douglas counties, then it's heavily pubbie.
