Maybe Kerry shouldn't count on young voters.

Another aspect of the college voter is....My daughter (in Nor Cal) voted by absentee (Bush). Her boyfriend (skerry voter) didn't even request an absentee ballot. College pubbies will make sure they vote. College Rats are apt to be too busy! YEA!!!

I work at all the University of Michigan football games & it has amazed me how many students wear their "Bush" stickers proudly. In speaking to many of them, they state that most of their friends are also voting for W. It seems that the vast majority of sKerry supporters are the 60's hippies that still live in Ann Arbor.

You're right! They're part of the revolution! We need more young FReepers!

I just showed her the post on Free Republic. She's e-mailing the link to FR to all her friends now...

Perhaps we should spend more time reaching college kids.

They may not be getting all their news from the MSM...we're on to something here.

Newspapers cost money that students don't need to spend. They don't have to leave their computers when they get the news online. This is what I have noticed about my kids and their friends. T.V., if watched at all, is strictly for entertainment.

I was. But that was in 1980, after four years in the United States Navy. I skipped on Ford/Carter. I heard the same lines back then about Reagan - he's a war-monger, etc. I said good - we need someone who can kick arse. Now they say the same things about President Bush - the favorite is he cannot even say nuclear correctly. My response - I don't care if he can say it, as long as he knows how to use it!

My daughter is a 19 y-o sophmore and says Bush support is quite fashionable on her campus - and it's known as something of a "party school" (I'm so proud). Her only regret is that she never found a shirt that had "Strategery" on it.

I've convinced one or two with that logic. "Look at the team behind him; then look at Kerry's."

My first vote was for Carter in '80. I was naive. All I knew was the standard Dim line: "Democrats care about people, Republicans don't."

Live and learn.

I voted with my NC State daughter this morning. She said that all of her friends got calls this morning from their Republican parents saying "you are voting for Bush aren't you?" None of the Demoncrat parents called at all. I think we have a strong influence on our kids voting...more so than the demoncrats do. I think there will be more voting for Bush this election but still in the minority. Should help the big picture though.

It's a good story, isn't it?

I hope it's reflected in Dan Rather's eyes tonight.

How about a sidebar on this one? We need good news today...and some good forwards to other college voters.

I just love these type of stories....it seems that the young voters can also utilize the internet to check Kerry on his facts, and lack thereof. Even the stories about grade school children doing mock voting has shown Bush to be way ahead.

It seems that the Dims with their dopey rock n roll friends, "Vote or Die" crap et. al. have turned off the younger voters that they were looking to get into their camp.

I have a senior and a freshman in college. They've both already sent in their absentee ballots, for Bush of course. My daughter and her Republican friends call themselves the People Who Know S#*t Club. I heartily approve of the sentiment, if not the language. I love my kids' generation, btw. They're culturally conservative, and I suspect the ones who think they're Dems now will turn around as they mature.

It's true in my family. My college daughter is a commuter, so I got her up to go vote with me before her classes. As we were leaving the polling place, I listened to Chris Matthews on IMUS who said that although his two dem children had requested absentee ballots, he didn't know whether or not they had sent them in. He said that he'll know tonight, after he speaks with them, about the youth vote. I listened, smiling widely, driving from the poll with my daughter. No doubt here.
