I am honored to represent the GOP today as a poll watcher in very conservative Riverside County, California. I have a hot line to FR and will post any newsworthy events on this thread as they occur. Please ask to be on a ping list if you like.
Any idea which way the diabolical cloning bond (Prop 71) is going?
You can say that again!
No map of the red/blue counties in CA
but here is the link to the registered voters and party affiliation

btw notice that the GOP has gained THIRTY FOUR COUNTIES in CA in the last 12 years...
THE ZOGBY POLL CALLING THE ELECTION FOR KERRY IS BOGUS. THERE IS NO POLLING IN FL OR OH, ETC. MICHAEL MEDVED IS TALKING ABOUT IT NOW.
Well....I actually voted for Kerry.
Before I voted against him. :)
Registered "Losertarian", voted Republican across the board, followed McClintock's state initiative recommendations, voted Yes on K (to help save the Cross on Mount Soledad), DeVaney for City Attorney, Murphy for Mayor.
There were about a dozen or so people in the polling place/garage down the street when I arrived, at least a dozen in line after I left. "Scantron" style bubbles to fill (I even checked the directions to see if a No. 2 pencil was needed). My name wasn't on the list even though I registered three times in the past five years, but this time I had my reciept/stub from the registrar's office that I slapped down like a Straight Flush while she flipped pages. "Oh, here you are." No verified ID or anything. Just, "Oh, yeah that's the address."
I think this is a heavy Democrat area since it's mostly dried-up beach bums/hippies. The write-in candidate Democrat for mayor even zipped ahead of the two squabbling Republicans. I'd be surprised if she lost, sadly. She held a press conference the other day and said, "It's all about feeling good." Seriously, she needs to get out of the sun.
NO on virtually everything! (Dagnabit!)
please put me on the ping list, thanks for doing this.
Looks like another DemoRAT win in California. This place stinks.
I think I'll try to move someplace else. Maybe Idaho.
Geez, where's all the California postings tonight?
The late returns (yes I am posting at 4:40 a.m.) indicate Bush carried Ventura County by near 6,000 votes (2.6%).
A job well done!
Thanks - I'm suprised it was so close!
When you think back on the Republican governors (and Presidents) who have won California in the last 40 years, there is a common factor. Reagan was from Los Angeles County. Deukmajian was from Los Angeles County. Wilson was from San Diego County. Ah-nold was from Los Angeles County.
