There are some folks going to vote during lunch. I'll question them re: turnout and report back later.
Generally speaking, and I get this info from my wife who is a first time poll watcher - No election materials of any kind inside the building. That INCLUDES VOTER GUIDES. No poll workers within 100 feet of the entrance to the building. You have to watch those dems. They will put their literature right up by the door or in the windows. If they do, just take them down and throw them away. They KNOW darn well they are not supposed to be doing it. I asked my wife "don't you tell them 'hey, you better move your stuff?" and she said 'heck no, they know better. I just throw it away.'" LOL
Would that be Berrien Co.? That's where I grew up (in Niles, to be precise). The south part of the county is more democrat than it used to be, although the county as a whole is still Republican.
Can't be within 150 ft of polling area.
Took my wife over an hour to vote in Lansing. The precinct crew had the slowest person writing names in the poll book and numbering the envelopes for the punch card. When she got to the polling area, only three of seven voting machines were occupuied because of the sign-in delay. The chairman was standing around like this was no problem. I've worked elections before and you get your best writer on the book and prenumber the ballot envelopes.
LOL I guess I should have said no PARTISAN election materials. It would be kind of hard to vote in a polling place with no election materials, huh ?
My Dad voted in Oakland County (Rochester) and said the lines were very very very long! Weather is crappy rainy.
Looking at all the predictions looks good for Bush, but no one is giving Michigan to the President. How it is one can go vote to ban gay marriage then vote for Kerry is beyond me. Still hoping MI will be the big surprise.
White Lake (west of Pontiac, Waterford, Clarkston) solid Republican...about a 20 minute wait in line at 7:30 am. GO DUBYA!
Voted at 7:00 a.m........There was a security guard in the hallway, and a guy with a suit standing there....it went smoothly, and the lines were long....the most I have seen in 30 years....everyone outside was at least 100' away from the entrance, as the law says.......all in all, not too bad.

One hundred feet is the closest they can be to any point of the polling place. That includes bumper stickers on cars of voters. Call the GOP headquarters in your town. They will take care of it.
I saw one person who wasn't allowed to bring her minor child into the booth with her. Technically that's a violation - minors are allowed in the booth - but both the adult and child were, um, heavyset and I doubted that they could have both fit simultaneously. There was no objection or discussion.
Four words: social conservatives, economic liberals. There are a lot of them here.

Those are new to me - those restrictions on voters themselves are bordering on the absurd. I'm safe, though - I parked several hundred feet away, and had a printout from Publius with my chosen candidates highlighted. Such restrictions on campaign workers, however, are reasonable and prudent.

Just voted at Schoenhals school in Southfield. My own precint had no lines, so I was out in 10 minutes. Another precint voting in the same building had around 250 in line, almost all black. I reminded myself that a lot of them might be members of Word of Faith, whose large, mostly black congregation is strongly pro-Bush, and who will be out in force to support the marriage amendment. They held a 2-hour prayer for the election last night.
No one was politicking, except someone handing out flyers for a local judge who is popular with conservatives as well as libs. Saw a few poll watchers, but have no idea what side they are on.
