Post your thoughts and observations on your voting experiences in Michigan. GO BUSH!
I just got a phone call recording from the state GOP, that lawyers are trying to keep the polls open late in Detroit, and to get out and vote to counter. Is this for real?
Where did ya' vote? My polling place is the BandShell....
That's mine also- precinct 12. I can see the Ferris street side of it looking out my front. As of 5 pm, the parking doesn't look jammed packed.
I live in Macomb County and my mother just called me from another suburb and said she just got a call from an unknown source asking her to call a judge to ask him to extend the voting time tonight because of voting irregularities. Has anyone else heard of this today in Michigan?
voted in Livingston County....was not asked for any ID....found this peculiar and sloppy.
Vote for Kwame's Mom? hahaha...
I grew up on Cleveland street....
Haven't been asked for my ID in Monroe county for years. They are checking addresses. 'Course in my little town they know me by name & reputation.
We waited about 1/2 an hour but that seemed short considering how many people were there - the line really moved. I guess everyone knew what they were doing. There was no one passing out flyers of any kind.
There was a dem poll watcher (saw her papers in hand) who came in just before us and was immediately banished to the corner by the poll workers! She stood there like a statue and did not issue a peep! She clearly was in unfriendly territory. I watched poll workers and they performed well and by the book.
Then we buzzed over to HLL's office on the other side of Detroit and picked up some of her literature to pass out in her district. Did not have to go far to find deep hostile Kerry Kountry just off I-94. We took HLL's flyers and set up camp and took the task, the literature went fast. Someone from her campaign came by and re-stocked us with a couple hundred more and we used them up too. Got a kick out of her campaign signs on I-94!
I talked with HLL briefly on a bad cell connection and she stated something about voter fraud-corruption-harassment, tearing down signs, police involved, city clerks, etc. more on the downriver area where she was headed, we'll hear more later.
The voters were maybe half minority and very friendly in the precinct we chose, the only mean ones were white wearing union jackets. There were other dem groups passing out their cronies literature and some lesbian group passing out anti-gay marriage ban stuff but we all got along just fine and joked a lot.
Just got back on this side of town, wife at the party store stocking up...
I got the same call. Can they stay open longer without letting others on the other side of the state?
Phil,
It's your tech-buddy who finally decided to stop lurking.
My father was almost disenfranchised. They dual printed my name on the stickers, leaving his name off. Other than that all was well in Troy Precinct 13. Long line, but only a 20 minute wait. Didn't encounter the Moveon.org people. They must have been in a different precinct in Troy.
WOOOHOOO! HOORAY PRESIDENT BUSH, VICE PRESIDENT CHENEY AND THE ENTIRE OUTSTANDING ADMINISTRATION!
Finally logging on at 3:00 am Wednesday morning.
Reinforcements are arriving daily. Welcome aboard everyone to a short time lurker, my good friend, Ryan a 19 year old (wise beyond his years) freeper.
HOORAY RYAN!!!...WAY TO GO!!!...WOOHOO!!!
