He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Psalm XXIV, verses 4, 5

The Prayer at Valley Forge by Arnold Friberg

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14: 26-27

I will be praying today here in Texas.

2 Chronicles 7:14
...if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"...a young man-Martin Treptow-who left his job in a small town barber shop in 1917 to go to France with the famed Rainbow Division. There, on the western front, he was killed trying to carry a message between battalions under heavy artillery fire. We are told that on his body was found a diary. On the flyleaf under the heading, "My Pledge," he had written these words: "America must win this war. Therefore, I will work, I will save, I will sacrifice, I will endure, I will fight cheerfully and do my utmost, as if the issue of the whole struggle depended on me alone." "...The crisis we are facing today does not require of us the kind of sacrifice that Martin Treptow and so many thousands of others were called upon to make. It does require, however, our best effort, and our willingness to believe in ourselves and to believe in our capacity to perform great deeds; to believe that together, with God's help, we can and will resolve the problems which now confront us."

Mornin', patriciaruth! Here's another that's been on my heart:

But as for me, I trust in Thee, O Lord, My times are in Thy hand.
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,
and from those who persecute me.
Make Thy face to shine upon Thy servant;
Save me in Thy lovingkindness.
Let me not be put to shame, O Lord,
for I call upon Thee;
Let the wicked be put to shame, let them be silent in Sheol.
Let the lying lips be dumb,
Which speak arrogantly against the righteous
With pride and contempt.

How great is Thy goodness
Which Thou hast stored up for those who fear Thee,
Which Thou hast wrought for those who take refuge in Thee,
Before the sons of men!
Thou dost hide them in the secret place of Thy presence from the conspiracies of man;
Thou dost keep them secretly in a shelter from the strife of tongues.
Blessed be the Lord,
For he has made marvelous His lovingkindness to me in a beseiged city.
As for me, I said in my alarm,
"I am cut off from before Thine eyes";
Nevertheless Thou didst hear the voice of my supplications when I cried to Thee.

O love the Lord, all you His godly ones!
The Lord preserves the faithful,
And fully recompenses the proud doer.
Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
All you who hope in the Lord.

Psalms 31:14-24

Happy are they

Hallelujah!
Praise the LORD, O my soul! *
I will praise the LORD as long as I live;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

2
Put not your trust in rulers, nor in any child of earth, *
for there is no help in them.

3
When they breathe their last, they return to earth, *
and in that day their thoughts perish.

4
Happy are they who have the God of Jacob for their help! *
whose hope is in the LORD their God;

5
Who made heaven and earth, the seas, and all that is in them; *
who keeps his promise for ever;

6
Who gives justice to those who are oppressed, *
and food to those who hunger.

7
The LORD sets the prisoners free;
the LORD opens the eyes of the blind; *
the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down;

8
The LORD loves the righteous;
the LORD cares for the stranger; *
he sustains the orphan and widow,
but frustrates the way of the wicked.

9
The LORD shall reign for ever, *
your God, O Zion, throughout all generations.

Hallelujah!

Psalm 146

I needed that this morning.

My daughter just called - she is on the way to vote, and wanted to make sure she could vote straight ticket.

Prayers to our great President, and to our troops in harms way.

"He that ruleth over men must be just...ruling in the fear of God."

Lord, we ask that if it be thy will, George W. Bush is re-elected. He is a Godly man who puts you first in his life and thinks of others before himself. But whatever happens, we know that you are in control of history and that you will have the ultimate victory. Thy will be done.

Heavenly Father,

The day has finally come. The day that we have all lifted our voices to You about. We again ask You to be merciful to this country. We acknowledge the sins of our nation and ask that You forgive us. We pray that You give President Bush a great victory today, so our nation is lead by a man who puts his trust in you. He's a man who is imperfect, maybe his mis-speech is meant to keep him humble. You don't care about the outward appearances, speech has nothing to do with character, and bottom line is, this man loves and honors You, not just with his lips, but in deed.

Father, we know that You will always do what is best for this country. Your will is that all Your children, including every liberal, comes to You. We don't know Your plans, but we know because of the sins of our nation we deserve judgment. We ask, before You lift Your hand of judgment over this nation, that You be merciful and give us one more generation. Just as Your children wandered the wilderness for 40 years, because they forgot Your wonderful works, we too have wandered away from You. But, Lord we do remember Your compassion. You forgave them over and over. Please forgive us once more.

We also pray that You will sent a great revival. One that will effect every person and every family in this nation. We pray that You be our leader and let us hear Your voice for direction. Father, we thank You that You even hear our prayers and pleas. Be merciful one more time Lord. And again, we humbly ask that You begin this revival by giving us a Godly leader.

Amen
