My husband and I went to vote this morning. We got to the polling place at 6:35 and were WAY back in line. The funny part was, I thought there was going to be a fist fight!

We voted at a hotel, the people had formed a line that wound around the lobby, but a poll worker came out, just as we were getting in line and said everyone needed to form a straight line out the door. Well, the people who were caught more towards the center of the lobby that had been in line for a while started yelling that they weren't moving! They'd lose their place in line if they had to move! There was one woman finally walking out the door yelling "This is Bull****!" But everything finally calmed down, people lost their "place" in line and didn't die.

And I voted!

I have a lot of confidence today that W will win. And of all the ralliers I saw on corners, bridges, etc. I only saw one man waiving a Kerry sign.

Go W!

People voting "for" Bush will stay in line. People voting against Bush will leave out of frustration. Keep calm, keep cool. If your employer makes a fuss, tell them you are excercising your right as a citizen.

Reporting in from Houston.
I arrived at the polling location at 5:45am. Polls open at 7am. Mine was the 1st vote cast. This is a ritual for me.
When I left at 7:05, there were about 50 people in line.

No political signs, no leaflets - nothing. This is quite unusual - Usually there are many signs just past the 100 foot limit. This time - nothing!!!!

Weather in Houston - not good; already some flooding downtown and will probably get worse. I don't expect it to stop anyone I know.

I'm feeling really, really good about this election.

Just voted here in scenic Brunswick, Ohio. Turnout very heavy here... much more than I expected. Took 45 minutes to vote. Voted for BUSH and FOR ISSUE 1 (Marriage Amendment). No Moron.org folks. One poll watcher (R). A small group of local Dem supporters (3-4 people) supporting a local candidate were there but not harrassing anyone. Also, police were there helping with traffic (should dissuade fraud as well). Lots of signs in the precinct informing voters about penalties for voter fraud. All in all, good experience and I feel good about Ohio. In the parking lot, about 50-50 bumper stickers/signs.
