Toxic political climate likely to continue
Lexington Herald-Leader ^ | Nov. 1, 2004

We'll pick a president Tuesday, and perhaps bring closure to an acrimonious year. But it's highly unlikely that either George W. Bush or John Kerry will be able to bridge the partisan divide and usher in a new era of civility.

In pursuit of victory, both have uttered grand promises - Bush talks about overhauling the tax code and partially privatizing Social Security, while Kerry touts an ambitious health-care plan with a price tag in excess of $600 billion - but they have rarely leveled with the voters about a few fundamental truths:

The bitter ideological conflicts that predate this election year will persist in 2005. Barring a surprising blowout Tuesday, political sentiment will remain starkly polarized. Nearly half the voters will feel scant allegiance to the man in the White House. The victor will still be grist for the hostile voices on talk radio, cable TV and the Internet. And congressional members of the opposition party - less devoted to the art of compromise than their forebears - will be tempted to win points with their die-hard supporters by shredding the victor's policy agenda.

As Thomas Mann, a nonpartisan Washington analyst, said Monday: "It's going to be a horrible governing climate. The opportunity always rests with the president, who can try to change the dynamic through his actions. But the combination of the fiscal constraints - the massive deficits, the ongoing cost of Iraq - plus the likely composition of Congress, and the overall political dynamic, is going to be devastating."

After President Bush gets re-elected - the first thing to do is have Congress investigate the major media outlets - and make it so the people are being informed every step of the way. It's the media and the Socialist Democrats who are keeping this nation divided. After the media is delt with - the next step will be to expose the "fakes" on both sides. The fakes in the Democrat party are really Socialist - their true agenda needs to be put before the people and Soros needs to be exposed - from there - the work moves forward - but faster -

just my thoughts -

"It's the media and the Socialist Democrats who are keeping this nation divided."

Correct. Divide? There ain't no divide. The problem here is that a lot of folks are drawing a line and the RATs can't push their agenda without resistence anymore. Some folks are pushing back, too. Seems like some don't take to having their freedoms, money, children and lives taken from them by arrogant SOB RATs. Before long, the whole RAT tribe is going to be on the endangered species list. When that happens, we'll all be one big happy family again. ;)

Let's wait and see, shall we! ; )

Whoever sits in the White House will be the person who the majority of people think will keep them secure.

War time changes the priorities of the electorate, except for the die-hard ideologues.

The old way of electing presidents was based on factors not involving a war with terrorists. When an overriding concern for personal and family security is added into the mix people tend to be more compliant and more conservative. So, terrorism is the one common factor (the common enemy) that can unite Americans.

The ideologues will still be there, but what effect they'll have is uncertain.

After Bush wins who cares. Every year there are fewer and fewer liberal baby boomers. Given there toxic life choices they are more likely to disapear at a higher rate than conservative baby boomers. That means that their decline will be exponetial year after year. So I suspect in the next 5 or 6 years the only liberal baby boomers left will be a crusty lesbian from Toledo that doesn't do drugs.

The US was designed to have a toxic political climate. Check some American history from 1788 to 1840. I think it is often a good idea. Gridlock is often the only way to get progress.

After we win this one, we HAVE to clean up the voter registration problems. We could easily lose this election because of rampant RAT voter fraud. To prevent this in the future, we must legislate that you show proof of citizenship and a photo ID to register and then a photo ID to vote. The voter lists must be in a national database so that you can't vote in multiple states. And once you vote in person or absentee, that databse will ensure you don't vote again and again.

If we don't have the cajones to get this done in the next four years, we deserve to lose. And don't worry about any negative press. Of course they'll hate it and rant against it. But the average American can see through that BS and will support a fair system. It's not "racist" to insist on a photo ID. We're not "intimidating" anyone to insist that only valid citizens vote and only vote once. And we won't be lawsuited and injuntioned out of having poll watchers by partisan RAT-appointed judges like we're seeing in Ohio and South Dakota.

The President tried to change the climate. We are dealing with the other side, which is filled with America-hating ***holes.

First we get a landslide for Bush. (300 EV'S)
Next Daschle is run out of the Senate
Then all the socialist and commies move to Canada
After that the MSM has an epiphany
All the bitterness and divisiveness will just melt away

When President Bush wins this time I hope he rams legislation down the RATS throat and uses his veto power. All that working with Ted Kennedy on the education bill didn't make any difference. I hope the President has learned his lesson.

Specifics? Implant? National ID? Tattoo? Stolen cards? Forged cards? Database system managers never subject to bribery (or sexual offers or blackmail or partisanship?) Updating the database on moving or marriage or other name change?
