INTERVENTION TO HEAD OFF ELECTION LOSS
DASCHLE LAWYERS GO TO FEDERAL COURT AT 8:00 PM TONIGHT TO STEAL VOTES, ELIMINATE REPUBLICAN POLL WATCHERS
SIOUX FALLS Anticipating a loss to Republican challenger John Thune tomorrow ending his 26-year congressional career, Senator Tom Daschle will seek federal judicial intervention in the election process tonight, Monday, November 1 during an emergency hearing in federal court in Sioux Falls at 8:00 PM.
The hearing will be before Federal Judge Larry Piersol who was appointed by Daschle to federal court and served as Daschles personal legal counsel in 1978.
This is nothing short of an attempt to steal an election Tom Daschle knows he is about to lose tomorrow, said Thune for Senate campaign manager Dick Wadhams. Daschles goon lawyers will seek to get Republican poll watchers removed from reservations and for voters to lose their right to vote.
Lawyers representing Tom Daschle successfully called for the hearing tonight in front of Daschle-appointed Judge Piersol.
The Pennington County Auditor was informed earlier today that Daschle lawyers will seek to ban the counting of legitimate absentee ballot requests in Pennington County tomorrow, Election Day, morning.
Indeed. It may be instructive that the judge(?) landed on license plate numbers. He knows something???

The judge only said "Republicans" couldn't record in their notes license plates numbers. Folks, that's fluff.
You can get someone who isn't a Republican to record the numbers. You can use a recorder. A camera. Call the numbers in.
You could even still record in a notepad and state because of the last hour, your people weren't aware of the ruling. LOL
The Dems lost and this is a smokescreen to try and save face.
I believe in the rule of law, which is why I agree with you. I'm tired of judicial legislation; they need to get back to interpreting existing laws.
I'm not kidding when I say that this is a disturbing case. It's necessary to take a stand against these "small" rulings so that we don't end up losing our freedoms in the bigger ones.
Collecting evidence (and writing with pencil and paper) in Charles Mix County of any other possible crime is still legal for any citizen, and it's still legal for LEO's to perform an investigation into possible voter fraud. Can a Libertarian poll watcher perform such duties in Charles Mix County?
Hopefully Thune might champion the repeal of Motor Voter after this.
Call it what it is, election observer intimidation under color of law.
When was the last time white men told Native Americans they couldn't use pen and paper as they see fit?
nominated, lots of people caught that, sorry.
SoDak, you were just in the middle of what could be the strangest moment in SD politics this decade. Hope you got a picture of yourself there for a keepsake.
And with that, goodnight all.
Goodnight, everyone! I really mean it.
Beaten Dims never die, they are dragged away kicking and screaming! Don't go away mad Tommy, just go away!

I didn't, at least not that I know of. I was in the belly of the beast, seated in court right behind Daschles two right hand men. I mistook one of them for Joe Lockhart.
"The hearing will be before Federal Judge Larry Piersol who was appointed by Daschle to federal court and served as Daschles personal legal counsel in 1978."
LOL! That's perfecly right for Daschle and South Dakota under the Dems!
The Argus Leader headline this morning:
Subheadline:
Daschle sues to stop 'intimidation' of Indians
Republican poll workers in Lake Andes were intimidating Native American voters on Monday, a federal judge ruled early today.....http://www.argusleader.com/news/Tuesdayarticle1.shtml
This is what we get when one party controls both the courts and the media.
It's time for pubbies to overcome their fear of how the media will portray them when they UNILATERALLY change Senate rules to limit minority filibusters.
UPDATE(from the blogger): The judge has issued an order restricting Republicans from recording license plate numbers of people leaving the polls in Charles Mix County. Well, this is a kick in the pants for the Democrats, who wanted the judge to force the Republican Party to completely re-deploy all its poll watchers. They had no substantive evidence, they relied on a Howard Dean operative who has been here for a day as the basis for their case, they looked desperate, they didn't get the relief they wanted, the entire GOP poll watching system is still in place, and more questions have been raised about why Democrats are so paranoid about people "ostentatiously taking notes."
I wake up to this? I worried about it all night while I tried to sleep. What a surreal decision!
Thank you. Boy, these rats will play as dirty as possible!
Which Airline will take Lil Tommie on their Board of Directors when he loses?
I am not defending Daschle & co. in any way, shape, or form, but I'd to point out that it is possible to have the same cars showing up at different polls without fraud going on. Our Victory Center (and hopefully all the others) has volunteers providing rides for voters who need transportation to the polls. The same vehicles will probably be going to multiple polls.
You do have a bit of a point, but if that were the case here, what is the big deal about recording plate numbers? Might be also wise to take pictures of those getting in and out of the cars.
Agreed. They don't want anybody checking up on them.
