Son Wounded in Afghanistan Today

Posted on 11/01/2004 6:09:43 PM PST by surfatsixty

Subject: i must say today was rather interesting... Date: Mon, 01 Nov 2004

well today has to be one of the more interesting days during my stay here... we were driving down a road in the 5 ton this morning when all of a sudden there was a pop and we couldnt hear anything... nor could we see cause of all this dust and smoke.. then we realized we were on the floor of the 5 ton and my arm felt like it was on fire... turns out the damn hodgies -CENSORED-, instant IED.

luckily for us he detonated it -CENSORED- the truck.. he must also have been incompetent cause -CENSORED-. i was at the -CENSORED- truck, hence then burning sensation of my arm- it was peppered by shrapnel. i looked at the arm of my blouse and it had all these little holes in it- kinda made me scared to look at my arm, but no time for that! i had hodgies to beat up! we found a bunch of guys working nearby that werent really cooperating with us so we pushed them onto the ground and pushed their heads in the dirt when they looked up- yes i realize they dont speak our language, but we were pissed and my arm hurt. sux to be them. luckily none of us were hurt, yes my arm got peppered but nothing stuck in, 'cept for a little splinter of metal which i pulled out. granted it did hurt pretty bad tho, but mostly just scrapes and bruises.. not purple heart material, but it'll make a good story... other than that, we;re all doing well, hope u all had a good halloween,. take it easy, write back soon.

He is 18, and a Marine Grunt, and I'm not going to proselytize.

You all know what to do tomorrow in the booth.

What is it with our Troops who never bother with punctuation in their E-mails?

I am so glad that he seems to be OK. Please thank him for me for his service!

If Kerry received three purple hearts, your son should be getting at least 12 for this.

Thank God he wasn't hurt worse. When you get a chance, thank him for all of us. There are many in America who appreciate what he is doing for our country and for the Iraqis. You raised a good'un, there. God bless your family.

God bless your son and all our soldiers. It is because of them we are able to vote without fear tomorrow and live the wonderful lives we have in America.

"...nothing stuck in, 'cept for a little splinter of metal which i pulled out. granted it did hurt pretty bad tho, but mostly just scrapes and bruises.. not purple heart material..."

Better by factors than sKerry's 3 PHs, IMO. He deserves one. He's a hero; sKerry's a coward, traitor, liar, fake and fraud.
