"by the way, on several occasions lately, Newt has hinted a return to elective politics."

I haven't heard him do so, but if he threw his hat in the ring for '08, I'm on board.

The way I see it, the Left is gonna demonize the nominee regardless of who the GOP nominates, so don't waste time or effort trying to find an infallable candidate the Left can't slur because that person doesn't exist. That said, Newt makes a great candidate for many reasons, not the least of which being he's very intelligent, and is a really, really good speaker.

Very few have been able to articulate as well as Newt on issues, on "big picture"/vision-related themes, etc.

He'd be able to raise cash easily, too. I'd sign up to help on day one if he committed to the race.

Too bad he didn't run for the Senate.

**by the way, on several occasions lately, Newt has hinted a return to elective politics.**

This is the first time I have posted or even voiced this aloud but over the last few weeks I have I do not know why felt this was a great possibility. IMHO whether it anything significant for 2008 or whether a lesser office before but I just have this feeling. He was with key people at the RNC I believe he was an official delegate from one of the States. It was said the the VP was at the RNC all week to move and shake behind the scenes was Newt part of that moving and shaking.

By my above comment I am not alluding any replacement of the VP I think he will serve his 4 years but Newt could be going to run for something either before or in 2008.

Well I have said it now.
