The Daschle campaign, desperate at finding itself behind in the polls, has resorted to an especially low form of "push polling." Our correspondent reports:
am here in Brookings, South Dakota [and] just thought I'd pass on the following information if you haven't seen or heard it. The Daschle campaign is having people claiming to be pastors and ministers calling local South Dakotans asking them whether the fact the "John Thune is attacking Linda Daschle" bothers them or makes them uncomfortable. When one constituent peppered the "pastor" with questions about his hometown, where he lived - it was apparent this "pastor" was not from South Dakota at all.
I called the Daschle campaign in Brookings posing as a sympathetic constituent, and they CONFIRMED to me that these calls are being made.
Needless to say, Thune isn't attacking Linda Daschle. But for Tom Daschle, this is what his long career in the Senate has come down to--hoping to eke out a victory through whining, false claims, and fraud.
I'm not making a lot of predictions this year, but I'm going out on a limb on this one--Thune will win.
Push Polling - Legal???
Yes, but Dims rarely worry about legality anyway.
We are getting a real treat from the Dems this election season. At the height of their hysteria and desparation, the Dems, accusing the Repubs of dirty tricks and lies, show us what they are themselves doing to pull off this election.
Teresa Heinz attacks Laura Bush for never holding a real job, proving that leftist fems look down on women who the occupation of homemaker.
Kerry and Edwards raising the issue of Cheney's lesbian daughter - backfired too.
Now Daschle thinks accusing his opponent of the same will work for him. It will backfire. They'll be 0-3 and look more foolish to those they are counting on to take them to victory.
Tiny Tommy's race will be decided by how many dead Democrats vote ..... and how many times each of them votes. Tommy-Two-Faced going down is second only on my wish list to Kerry getting whipped.
I don't remember the details, but I remember reading something that showed that Linda Daschle is ethically challenged...big time. Of course it would be inexpedient to make that a campaign issue.
So you confirmed what everybody already knew (they're liars), then you came to FR to preach to the choir. Why didn't you contact as many local media outlets as possible?
The Democrats are showing what they are made of. No sugar, spice, or anything nice; Daschle is showing the folks of South Dakota what he's really like. South Dakota remove him from office, since he hasn't supported them for years.
What the hell are you talking about? I am posting what Powerline got from one of its readers. I live in CA. Get a clue.
Sorry, I misread. But the near-profanity was uncalled for. All you had to do was clarify.
Linda Daschle is not a just another private citizen. She is an influential Beltway insider.
This is what you wrote, without doing any homework or research. And assuming that I live in SD. All you had to do was click on the link and see for yourself or just ask me without making false accusations.
You know after the "its not my house, its my wife's..its not my DC tax deduction, its my wife's even though I signed the form....and I gave the ailines all those tax breaks and just forgot my wife lobby's for them--..... stuff.
Lil Tommy would do well not to remind any voters just who his wife is and what her not very ethically obtained bank account might look like.
I've read your posts for a while, and always thought you were a cool guy. Now that I see you've responded to my apology with absolutely no class whatsoever--and a continued rebuke when it's absolutely unnecessary--I have formed a different opinion. If you're suffering from what the pop psychologists are calling "Pre-election anxiety syndrome," give me a break and focus it on somebody else, okay? Go W.
Sorry that I offended you. But if you read what you wrote initially, and imagine saying that to someone's face, then that was how I felt.
And I think we all feel that syndrome. By the way, I posted over 20-30 new threads yesterday/today, so give me a break.
Anyway, let's just forget what happened. We got an election to win. Go Bush!
Daschle will probably carry the Indian lawyers of the Ahmagonna Sioux tribe.
Deal. Go W.
And let's promise that neither of us will say, "I love you, man!" That's humor, trying to lighten things up.
