Good morning, freepers. As you may already know, this is where we place links to other Terri threads at Free Republic and other breaking news about Terri Schindler-Schiavo.

In addition, this is a place to meet and plan ways to use grassroots activism to help Terri's Fight.

If you are a newbie to Terri's Fight, I urge you to visit http://www.terrisfight.org where you can subscribe to their newsletter, can get up to speed on the court cases and the very long struggle.

As far as what can Free Republic do for Terri's Fight, in the November Dailies Thread (here), please consider joining us.

The pay isn't very good lol but it is rewarding to help Terri nonetheless. Terri's life has as much value as anyone else's. The right to die movement needs a counter-balance. That freepers, is where we come in. TO JOIN TERRI'S FREEPERS, I would ask that newbies and old guard Terri freepers do a post to join us under our new name: TERRI'S FREEPERS.

In addition, today is DAY ONE of a three day pre-meeting in Tallahassee. TERRI'S HOUSE REPRESENTATIVE is the Speaker Pro Tem of the House. Leslie Waters is going to have a lot of power. Former Speaker Johnnie Byrd vacated his seat in the Florida House in order to run for the U.S. Senate. He no longer serves in an elected position.

PLEASE READ IF YOU DECIDE TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE JUDICIAL QUALIFICATIONS COMMITTEE/COMMISSION:

Once the JWC assigns your Complaint to them (by registered mail) and you receive a Docket Number from them, you are not allowed to publicize anything about your complaint or they have a rule wherein they can automatically dismiss your complaint.

In my opinion, it's just another way the JQC can duck their responsibilities.

JQC is by registered mail only. Phone and emails have no effect whatsoever.

You will know the JQC accepted your Complaint if they mail you a Docket Number. FV

Yes, and earlier this year, Michael WAS FIGHTING TO GET THE ENTIRE TAX REFUND even though he and Terri file jointly. Meanwhile, her wheelchair is still broken.

Johnnie Byrd STILL ANSWERS the phone in Tallahassee. House Speaker Designee is Allan Bense and Speaker Pro Tem is Leslie Waters from Terri's district. Hopefully, they'll DESTROY Jim King's legacy of torture and death.

Poor Estelle Browning, she can't be resting in peace knowing all the killings that her case has caused.

To those who (back up in the thread) responded to Ted Rall's vulgar cartoon that ran in last week's Washington Post, I extend a personal Thank You and a Well Done. Please read on:

Last week, the Washington Post published a positively offensive cartoon penned by author/cartoonist Ted Rall. In this cartoon (which was forwarded to many of us), Mr. Rall tried to express a political statement about the voting public in America by the use of a grotesque caricature of a disabled child. In all four frames of this comic, the disabled child was depicted in the most dehumanizing and insulting fashion.

Many of you - as disability advocates, parents or partners of disabled citizens and admirers of persons with different abilities - took it upon yourselves to contact both Mr. Rall and the Washington Post in an effort to express your dismay.

Mr. Rall published a half-hearted excuse for his comic on his web site as a response. However, the Washington Post took a more decisive action against this vulgar display of bigotry and has ceased publishing Mr. Rall's comics.

The following is an email received by one of the many good people who took a moment to express their unhappiness at the insensitivity towards our disabled community. I've redacted this person's contact details in interest of privacy, but I wanted to share with you how powerful and important your voices are.

And I thank you - one and all - for your commitment to honoring all of us, no matter who or what we are. Well done!

Speaker Allan Bense was sworn in today, as was new Florida Senate President, Tom Lee (who replaces Jim King as Senate President, although King continues to serve as a state senator). The Florida Legislature held its constitutionally-mandated "organizational session" today (14 days after the general election). Newly-elected state legislators also took their oaths of office today, and officially began their elected terms of office.
