Too funny. The word "but" says all you need to know about where they stand.
It's the headline on page A21 of "The Nation" section.
TOPICS: News/Current Events

That's the funniest headline I've ever read since "Headless Body Found in Topless Bar". They just don't see the connection at all. What a bunch of tools.

In other words, all other rates of all other crimes are dropping, except for gun ownership which, implying it is also a crime, is on the rise.
It is no surprise that the Globe views gun ownership as a crime. It nearly is in the Boston city limits.

I remember being appalled as a child at my father's irresponsibility. You see, we were the only household in our small Georgia town neighborhood who didn't have guns.
I confronted my father, pointing out that all the neighbors had guns in their homes. My dad replied, "Good. That means we don't have to."

Inability to distinguish between cause and effect is one of the hallmarks of a weak or poorly educated intellect. One of the first lessons of college level statistics is that correlation does not equal causality. The RATs attract persons who failed math and so had to turn to journalism or some soft "hyphenated studies" major to finish school.
