Cronkite's tape take riles right [Or... “Senile, socialist 'has-been' disgraces himself!”]
The Boston Herald ^ | November 1, 2004 | By Tom Mashberg

Martha's Vineyard retiree Walter Cronkite's assertion that a Bush administration operative is behind last week's Osama bin Laden video has inflamed conservatives but left plenty of liberals wondering. ``I'm a little inclined to think that Karl Rove, the political manager at the White House, who is a very clever man, he probably set up bin Laden to this thing,'' Cronkite, 88, told CNN interviewer Larry King Friday night. Rove is the chief political adviser to President Bush and a figure Democrats demonize as a dirty trickster.

Cronkite did not explain how he came to his conclusion, but the accusation had right-wing commentators burning up the Internet and the airwaves. As a former longtime anchorman with ``The CBS Evening News,'' Cronkite is viewed as the ``godfather of media bias'' by some fervent political circles. ``It's pretty sad the liberals have become so bitter, so angry, that they no longer know who the real enemy is,'' Joel Johannesen wrote on ConservativeGroundswell.com. ``It's. . . funny how the Democrats are so terrified of Rove! They consider him a true evil genius.''

But Henk Ruyssenaars, editor of the Foreign Press Foundation Web site, echoed the thoughts of suspicious left-wingers when he wrote: ``Many wonder if this Osama tape is some `Bush October Surprise,' as Cronkite carefully indicated, the main reason being to influence the outcome of the presidential election.''

It is really sad the way the liberals have used this man. I do not why someone in Walter Cronkite's family does not protect him.

Cronkite is a senile old fool and in the last stages of his diaper training.

Cronkite isn't senile and knows exactly what he is doing.

He's a one-worlder and has stated so on many occasions concluding that the UN should be the world government.

It bothers me that so many can lie without blinking an eye.

Osama has been held in my shed for over a year now. I captured him at the Seven Eleven and I have been holding him until the right time. I let Rove into the shed and we made the tape. I don't know how Cronkrette found out. The jig is up I guess.

Protect him? Be serious. He's been a lib all his life and right now he's just mad that he isn't in the limelight any longer. Haven't you read any of those screeds he put out? Blame America First.

Cronkite needs to find some sort of "Depends" for his mouth.

I do not why someone in Walter Cronkite's family does not protect him.

Perhaps his family has also drunk the kool-aid. Perhaps they think Walter is still "fighting the good fight"?

Someone like Walter has great advantages for the Dems. He can say anything -- and people will consider his views. Maybe he will sway someone. But, if he goes too far, hey, it's just Walt! He's old, you know, maybe a little out of touch now that he's retired. Don't take him seriously! Until, that is, he makes another pronouncement, which people will consider -- after all, he's Walter Cronkite!

He is used becaused he is useful. He knows it. His family knows it.

For the Left, there are no individuals of any worth. There are merely tools which can be used until they are broken and thrown away.

Does anyone here think that Cronkite would have been the most trusted man in America if there had been the Internet, talk radio or FOX News during his era? I think not.

BTW, does anyone know who the most trusted man (or woman) is today via polls?

Before I started college my dad sat me down to watch Walter Cronkite spew the news. When it was over he told me "that is exactly the same sort of opinion your college professors will try to use on you".

Here's the worst part!

A biography of the Crankster at
www.famoustexans.com!!!

"Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, in November 1916, long-time CBS-TV News anchorman Walter Leland Cronkite, Jr., was raised..."

I haven't yet found him at "www.famousMarxist.org" but I'm hopeful!

That sounds an awful like what happened to Bat Boy a while ago, except he was cornered for about a month in a garage here in Las Vegas, where pictures were taken and used in the Enquirer.

Coincidence? I think not! Karl Rove is one evil genius!
