From Powerline.com
"Actually, my mom recieved a recorded message from Brett Favre supporting Bush. Reference was made to todays win vs the Redskins. I would imagine this is playing all over Wisconsin."
Apparently courting athletes was part of the Rove strategy for the last 72 hour push. Of course it looks like Favre was trying to lose today with 3 interceptions today. This could actually be big in Wisconsin
And make sure they work in Kerry's "Lambert Field" quote somehow. Between a Farve endorsement of Bush, and publicity for Kerry's insulting gaffe, there would doubtlessly be a 5-10% swing in Wisconsin's numbers.
PS, Brett: If you ARE listening, please also accept my humble condolences and support for the rough year you, Deanna, and your families are having.
I told you all in a post awhile back that Favre was a BIG Bush supporter! In that post I said it would be awesome if only he could stump for Bush. Had no idea he was lined up to do these phone calls. This is great!
I'm pist! I only go a call from Rudy today!!!
To paraphrase Laura Ingraham:
Brett, shut up and play!
Sorry, but this is just another example of an entertainer opening his mouth. Whether they be Democrat 'musicians' or Rep. athletes, I'm not sure why their opinion matters to anyone other than themselves.
Yep, 708 755-5134. I've also gotten calls from Ben Stein and Franklin Graham.
The call was not from Favre, but from Green Bay Packer legend Bart Starr. Brett is a Bush supporter, but I don't see him doing phone calls.
If you think that's bad, we received a call from Jesse Jackson.
I haven't gotten a call from -one- professional windsurfer supporting John Kerry.
Brett's a Mississippian.
He's for Bush, guaranteed.
I have privacy manager, so only get the tail ends of the calls, so have no idea who else has called me. LOL Ben Stein was on CSpan this weekend. He was outstanding, of course!
If the call I get is from the Bush side, I hang up right away. If it's from the Democrats, I keep the line open as long as possible. It may only be a half a cent difference, but if you watch your pennies, the dollars take care of themselves. :o)
He's also a very avid deer hunter. Though I doubt he's ever had a Massachusetts 16-point buck in his sights, so he's not as good as Kerry, obviously (/sarcasm).
usually nobody else is home which is a good thing because I talk back to the recordings......
I especially like it when some Rat group calls......I just wish they could really hear what I am saying.....lol
you know what they say about payback.....
LOL!
Yes, we have privacy manager, too, so I hear the very end of the message. Sometimes you only hear the disclaimer part. That's OK because I voted already and wouldn't change my mind anyway.
As a Cowboys fan, Brett Favre has always been one of my very favorite players in the NFL.
Yep, me too.
All I know is, the Houston Texans won today and the Patriot's streak was snapped by Pittsburgh. That's a good sign by any measure.
Unfortunately the Redskins defeat is supposed to be a bad omen for the presidential election. If the Redskins win the last home game before the election, the incumbent party wins. Of course being a Dallas Cowboys fan, I hate the Redskins.
We got a recorded call from Bart Starr today here in Fitchburg. Although my mom answered so it might have been Brett (she doesn't hear too well).
