Isn't it amazing we havn't heard a peep about the C-BS forged document scandal in quiet a while? Worse than Watergate yet not worth their time.
Astute observation... The same folks who send this bit of "good news" are same folks who tried to screw President Bush with forged documents... Trust CBS/NY Times?? I'd rather trust Hitler...
Great Internals...but man, I have read Gallups..and for Gallup to show kerry up in Fl after having Bush +8 there last time and have Bush up in PA and Kerry up in OH is just too much for me to bear without almost luaghing to death...
RAssmusen hasn't changed in months. He's betting on close race and wnating his numbers to match.
You're THE Alexander McClure?? Credit's due where credit's due. I don't claim your work as my own. Congrats on doing a good job over at Polipundit! :)
There's no way Gallup's internals are that good in their last poll. The way I figure it, they put it together in a hurry so they could get bragging rights. Their last effort's nearly as bad as all of John Zogby's work put together.
The difference is that there are a LOT of Kerry voters in the mega-vote rich states he has locked up. Enough to make the election close but not enough to win it.
This being the case how in the heck can there the election be tied? It's crazy.
A tie means there will be people voting for Kerry even though they think Bush is a better leader and they trust Bush more. That makes no sense at all. NONE. The internals do show that Kerry has higher marks for the economy. But that makes no sense either. Kerry has done nothing in his Senate career to account for this belief. There is just no economic track record there. Just talk of plans. IMHO it is based on NOTHING other than they HOPE he can do better than Bush on the economy.
This stuff just does not add up.
The Times has dropping circulation and the New York Post has rising circulation. The same is true where I live. The Pittsburgh Post Gazette is losing circ. while the the Pittsburgh Tribune Review is gaining.
There is a movement afoot nationally towards conservative papers.
I do not make this claim lightly, I spent 20 years in the newspaper and publishing business before retiring and still follow these trends.

Exactly - which what leads to me to the conclusion Gallup is an outlier. It doesn't jibe with the internals we're looking at on this thread.
It means nothing or Kerry and Bush both would be down there. As it is Kerry is spending his last day in the Midwest and NOT in the Florida with its 27 edlectoral votes. Both their internal polls are saying that Florida is in the Bush column.
Yeah I saw that. Per FR rules, usually only one thread per source is allowed to remain up. I guess Jim Rob is feeling good tonight so he decided to give a special Halloween dispensation to Freepers. It makes sense - why rain on good news?? :)
Exactly. Watch where the candidates spend the last hours of their campaign, as the old saying has it. People may lie to pollsters but the candidates never lie about where they think they have a good chance of winning.
I think it is an admission by Dims that Bush is has more going for him than Kerry. It is a clever poll question. It draws out an honest gut reaction which is, "Most other people must see what I see and that is that Bush is a better guy than my guy.
His approval was 44% one week ago in the CBS/NYT poll. So, that is a significant improvement.
