> Of course, there are personal considerations that may loom much larger than politics. Infertility is a tremendously painful experience and many who have suffered from it don't talk about it with anyone—sometimes not even family members or close confidants. Then, too, for most parents, the privacy of the children is of utmost importance. The Edwardses, if they did use donor eggs, may or may not plan to tell their children

Remarkable hypocrisyy. Ms. Edwards publicly opines that the Cheneys might be ashamed of their lesbian daughter, yet they keep the egg donation issue off the table to protect their own kids?

Or is this just more political calculation from the Party of cynicism, knowing this issue would be explosive among Evangelicals and serious RCs?

I am anything but a defender of the Breck Girl and Liz, but if the fact Liz may have used donor eggs would be an "explosive" issue among evangelicals and religious conservatives, those particular evangelicals and religious conservatives should be ashamed of themselves.

This is nobody's business. Nobody's. I am amazed Slate would run this story.

You know, what they said about Mary Cheney is irrelevant--two wrongs don't make a right. This is not an appropriate angle of "attack".

This is one Evangelical who's only explosive reaction to the subject is horror that this ever made it into print. If anyone wants to talk about donated eggs, then fine let's talk about donated eggs. These are not donated eggs, they are two beautiful little children!

God bless Emma and Jack Edwards.
