Kerry 'Outraged' Over Bin Laden Tape Impact
NewsMax ^ | October 31, 2004 | Carl Limbacher

John Kerry said Sunday that he's "outraged" that anyone would think the re-emergence of Osama bin Laden on a terror video released Friday may hurt his chances in next Tuesday's election.

"I'm outraged that he has appeared," Kerry told ABC News anchor Peter Jennings. "I'm outraged that he inserts himself in any kind of way into the electoral process of America."

Asked about comments from both his campaign and team Bush suggesting that the bin Laden tape gives the president a big boost in the closing days of the campaign, Kerry told Jennings, "I think it's unfortunate that anybody puts Osama bin Laden into any political context in the United States' election." When reminded that his surrogates were the first to address the bin Laden tape in a political context, Kerry said, "Well, I don't want them doing that. I think that's wrong. I think that every American is outraged at the sight of Osama bin Laden, and anything that he says about the American electoral process."

In fact, minutes after al Jazeera aired the terror tape, Kerry himself politicized the news, saying that bin Laden's continued survival was the result of Bush "outsourcing" the hunt for the terror chief in December 2001.

' Kerry will not only win in Massachusetts, he will have his highest margin in the country there.'

There are no signs, no bumper stickers, no shows of support anywhere in western and central MA. He is not someone residents feel close to, and maybe, just maybe, we'll see a huge groundswell of opinion against him and his ilk on Tuesday. He will win MA., but the numbers might surprise you.

I'm not sure why Kerry displays so much outrage. After all, Osama is just a nuisance, right?

The easy job in the Senate is handling Kerry's daily schedule.

"I thought he wanted to "outsource" the war? As in turn over operations in Iraq to the French, Germans, UN?

Or does he only object when the outsourcing involves groups who know the terrain and have a vested interest in pacifying Afghanistan - like locals would have? Or does he just object when Bush does it?"

Glad you asked. As a matter of record, Kerry was FOR outsourcing at Tora Bora before he was against it. Check this old Larry King interview:

Wow - you're right! I just went to read that now. Amazing how nobody is mentioning that! I know I shouldn't be surprised anymore, but it never ceases to amaze me.

Americans don't take kindly to being kicked around. Threatening us at this time just hardens our resolve to see his head on a pike.

That only applies to about half the American people. The thing that has stunned me is that none of the democrats seem to have noticed that Bin Laden, the terrorists, was spouting democrat talking points. It should have given them pause, but it didn't seem to bother them.

Considering their other senator is a murderer, I don't have much fait that the voters of MA will get rid of him.

Don't forget their congressman, Barney Frank! What a crew.

From powerlineblog.com:

Wretchard has an interesting take on Osama's video: he's like the kid on the playground who tries to call "time out" when he's about to get clobbered:

It is important to notice what he has stopped saying in this speech. He has stopped talking about the restoration of the Global Caliphate. There is no more mention of the return of Andalusia. There is no more anticipation that Islam will sweep the world. He is no longer boasting that Americans run at the slightest wounds; that they are more cowardly than the Russians. He is not talking about future operations to swathe the world in fire but dwelling on past glories. He is basically saying if you leave us alone we will leave you alone. Though it is couched in his customary orbicular phraseology he is basically asking for time out.

The American answer to Osama's proposal will be given on Election Day. One response is to agree that the United States of America will henceforth act like Sweden, which is on track to become majority Islamic sometime after the middle of this century. The electorate best knows which candidate will serve this end; which candidate most promises to be European-like in attitude and they can choose that path with both eyes open. The electorate can strike that bargain and Osama may keep his word. The other course is to reject Osama's terms utterly; to recognize the pleading in his outwardly belligerent manner and reply that his fugitive existence; the loss of his sanctuaries; the annihilation of his men are but the merest foretaste of what is yet to come: to say that to enemies such as he, the initials 'US' will always mean Unconditional Surrender.

Osama has stated his terms. He awaits America's answer.

"I think it's unfortunate that anybody puts Osama bin Laden into any political context in the United States' election."

That's why John repeatedly brought up Osama and Tora Bora in the debates.

I'm outraged that he can't manage his own campaign and still tries to convince us he can manage the country.

He'll still be in the Senate.

But probably just as silent there as he's been for the past 20 years.

I would drive everyone nuts with my outrage.
