Midnight in South Vietnam, and the river is black. Past the rice paddies and shacks, small fires are burning by the shoreline as Lt. John H. Davis' 50-foot aluminum swift boat PCF 19 makes its routine patrol through the reeds.

Go Swifties!
This is their time.
They deserve much more support from conservatives all across America than they have been getting. I wish I could give more than I have given so far. I wish conservatives everywhere would feel the same way. Kerry is a dangerous man. He will wreck our country. The Swiftvets are the only ones out there telling it like it is. Certainly the GOP isn't. Certainly George Bush (god love him) isn't. Certainly Karl Rove isn't. Conservatives everywhere are "playing nice".
Only the Swiftvets have a clear idea of what is at stake here.
Give America to Kaptain Kommie Kerry, and we'll all be sinking together.
A defeat of Kerry will be the Parade that we never had. ( Nam '67-68)
Thank you for your Service!
My hubby was an Army Combat Viet Nam Vet. He was in Nam for 13 months, returned in April of 68.
George W. Bush condemned the Swiftvet ads (along with all 527 ads). I guess Bush doesn't think these veterans should be allowed to have their say.
And the honor you are due. But, when he loses it should not stop there. The media MUST be forced to face what they did with their lack of honesty in covering the VietNam war because they had their own agenda to end it and didn't care who got demeaned and defamed along the way. God Bless all of you.
When did he condemn the ads?
Not too long after John McCain condemned the Swiftvets as "dishonorable and disgraceful". There were numerous threads on FR regarding this at the time.
Quit stabbing our president in the back, you third party whinner!
CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - President Bush said on Monday advertisements by independent groups attacking Democrat John Kerrys service in Vietnam should be stopped along with all other ads run by independent groups.
The president said he wants to stop all of them. That means that ad and every other ad. He was referring to a commercial by Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, who have claimed Kerry lied about his record.
So Grandpa....I take it you agree with President Bush on this issue?
From day one the Swift Vets said they were not for GW, didn't work with GW nor did they take advice from him.
It grows so old see so called conservatives for the third party losers stabbing GW in the back instead of stating what your third party losers stand for and kicking the president.
Left out one word:
It grows so old "to" see so called conservatives for the third party losers stabbing GW in the back instead of stating what your third party losers stand for and kicking the president.
bttt
How am I stabbing Bush in the back? Bush condemned the Swifvet ads. That is a fact. Are you disputing that?
Let me spell it out to you real plain and simple.
Currently, the polls (believe them or not) show a very close race for the White House. There are two candidates for president that have any chance of winning the office. By claiming to be a conservative yet unwilling to place your vote behind the president, you are essentially voting for Kerry. You openly promote your choice of candidate on your personal page here.
So your choice somehow gives you some theoretical moral high ground on conservatism? I think not. As critical as votes are, aiding and abetting our nation's enemy is probably not going to endear you to anyone in here except for others like yourself. That could be why thrid party candidates or parties for that matter are seen as spoilers. We can thank Perot for 8 years of Clinton. We can't afford 4 weeks of Kerry, much less 4 years.
You protest voters don't belong in here. I'd rather debate with an honest Kerry supporter (not easy to find) than a stealth Democrat. (Spit.)
Godebert, we might be able to see your point better if you could actually show us a quote of Bush "condeming". There's a big difference between condemning and coming out against. Spin, spin, spin
President Bush took an Oath to Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States of America. He then signed the McCain/Fienstein Campaign Finance Reform Bill (after declaring it unConstitutional).
He also said he would sign an extension of Bill Clinton's Ban on Semi-Auto rifles (clearly an abridgement of our 2nd Amendment).
He has also shown no interest in dealing with the problem of massive illegal immigration.
You better wipe that "spit" of your chin....boy.
