(Barbara Bush and McCullough in Hackensack NJ Saturday evening)
NEW JERSEY LOVES BUSH TWINS: As the media is still reporting on it - the Bush girls are just catching their breath and getting some rest after an incredibly busy day that had them criss-crossing the Garden State in an effort to capitalize on what promises to be tremendous poll numbers for the President in Sunday's New Jersey papers.
"Check the Newark Star-Ledger on Sunday," said the excited New Jersey Chairman of the State Republican party. "DEAD HEAT!"
As the Bush twins took to the microphone on Saturday evening it was the third event in roughly six hours and though they had to be exhausted - they obviously fed off of the energy of the revved up crowd in Hackensack.
"Isn't it a wonderful, that thanks to your diligent efforts," said Jenna Bush to the packed room of campaign volunteers, "that we are actually talking about winning New Jersey."
Bringing the Bush daughters to the state as part of the 72 hour plan of the GOP is a strong indicator that Bush is polling well in New Jersey in the campaign's internal polls. Well enough infact that they will continue to pour resources into New Jersey in the final three days. New York Governor George Pataki will be similarly criss-crossing New Jersey on Sunday.
Let's all get out there and do something to help the twins out.
You might not know this, but that "zombie" in the picture with Barbara is KMC1.
And I didn't get a ZOT so I consider KMCl took it in fun like he was supposed to. ;-)
God bless our troops wherever they may be.
What kind of horrible wheat thresher accident leaves you with only one nail? LOL
remember, Whitman was down to Florio 9 points in the polls taken right before the election she won. NJ is a funny state, turnout shifts can be very strange because the state is so suburban. The 9-11 effect is strong in the parts of the state that are nearest Manhattan - where the Dems traditionally do the best. add the McGreevey effect to the mix.
is Rudy going to NJ tomorrow? He ought to set himself at NJT and the PATH stations all day long, Monday and Tuesday, shaking hands.
LOL! Now, be nice. ;-)
I know how it feels to be so excited as to miss a letter or post twice. Better that than hear about yet another Kerry lackey. It's nice to hear about an immigrant happy about the opportunity to come to our still great country and support a great President, Mr. Bush.
There have been direct death threats against the family and yet the girls were on the campaign trail for their father and for AMERICA.
I work in NYC with almost all women (about 15) who reside in NJ. In 2000, they almost unanimously voted for Kerry. Last week we were kicking around politics and almost all were now supporting Bush. And it wasn't 9/11 exclusively. They cited support of Bush stemming from their ability to believe what he says, his no-nonsense style. Even if Jersey does go Kerry, we're trending 10-11 points better than we did in 2000. This is good news indeed when lent to a macro view of this election.
Bush Lost NJ by about 8 points! One reason why nobody from either side can believe these polls--they're just not accurate. Once they start polling people with cell phones maybe a more accurate number can be obtained.
Was surprised that he won Monmouth County this time. Maybe some of the chosen people in Manalapan actually swung our way this time (we can hope).
