If Kerry is elected, you can kiss military retention goodbye.
Probably very likely! I know if I were still on active duty I would sure consider getting out IF sKerry was elected!
i got out of the navy after 5 years when clinton was elected and everything i was scared of happened on his watch
My son served under Bush 40 and wanted to make a career serving in the Navy...Clinton was elected and decide (as well as other good men) to find another career opportunities outside the service as opposed to serving a President with not guts...
That's what I though, I BET MANY people are waiting until Nov 2 to see who is in, and basing their military future on that.
We have the greatest military in the world, God Bless Them. If I could serve in the military, I would, but if sKerry is elected President I would not and if our current military personnel want to get out, I don't blame them. sKerry will have to have a draft which will fall very short of the brave men and women currently serving. sKerry frightens me more than any terrorist.
I disagree (somewhat). If Kerry is elected you will see his DOD put in the mother of all stop losses.

I will be much the same as when Carter and Clinton became Commanders in Chief. I was in for Carter but retired before Clinton. We generally sat back to see what would happen. I decided it was another case of this too shall pass and stayed in. While retention did become a minor problem with Clinton, it was offset by his slashing the manpower authorization.
Hopefully we will still have a Republican Congress.
He can always re-institute the draft.
The ultimate irony could be the scenario of liberal parents who voted for Kerry watching their sons and daughters go to Canada to avoid being drafted because of a Kerry presidency. It would serve them all right.
