Most political pundits thus far have missed the point of Osama bin Ladin's "endorsement" of Senator John Kerry in a videotape this Friday.
Bin Ladin was not addressing the American public, but rather the remnant of al Quaeda scattered throughout the Arab world. After his stunning success in disrupting the Spanish elections and energizing his remaining supporters, bin Ladin is desperate to strike at the United States.
Unable to launch a Madrid-style attack to disrupt and influence American elections, bin Ladin is forced to settle for a pre-election bashing of President Bush in the language of Michael Moore and his Hollywood friends and then hope that Kerry wins. By threatening American voters with terrorist attacks if Bush is re-elected, his terrorist audience will be impressed by bin Ladin's boldness in taking on Bush.
If Kerry does win the election, bin Ladin will be able to claim a victory, arguing that he was successful in intimidating American voters who fear terrorism. In doing so, he will be able to convince his terrorist allies that he is still a powerful force in the world.
How do you post pics?
Here's the secret, people. Bin Ladin GUARANTEES more attacks is Kerry is elected. With Bush in office, we will be ready to retaliate. Kerry will limit himself to seeking another indictment.
FMCDH(BITS)
I have a feeling BinLadin has been following this campaign pretty closely and he knows Kerry's military history and I
am sure he knows what a light-weight Kerry is when it comes to the bloody battles that are part of war. My gosh, I don't think any of his "injuries" even bled that he got Purple Hearts for. I'm sure ole Bin would love to install a president that has history of running out on his fellow soldiers only four months into conflict.
I think BL and I agree on one thing, that when Kerry first found out about this tape, he had to do a major clench (if you know what I mean). I have always felt that behind all of that "I'm a hero" bluster is the heart of a coward that would actually poop his pants if he had to make the hard decisions.
General Anthony McAuliffe had the best answer at Bastogne in 1944....Nuts!
"If Kerry does win the election, bin Ladin will be able to claim a victory"
This is one reason that should dissuade even the most ardent Kerry supporters to vote for Bush. We cannot let there be a perception that we caved in like the Spanish did.
I think you're correct. He seemingly praised Bush when he credited Bush's quick response for preventing the rest of the 9/11 attack plans. Why would he do this? To defend himself to the terrorist world that is starting to criticise him for not hitting harder. He is saying the new US President was a formidable warrior, and had he not been in place the pain inflicted was to have been much stronger. The jihadists will respect this, and will again back UBL. The audience was not the US voting public.
Question, and probably has nothing to do with the topic at hand. General Anthony McAuliffe, of "Battle of the Bulge" (wherein comes that memorable quote), could he be related in any way to Terry McAuliffe? Because if he is, then the blood lines have run pretty thin over the last couple generations.
Or maybe General McAuliffe is no relation at all to Terry McAuliffe.
WE ARE NOT SPAIN!
Individual U.S. states can't "attack"/"tamper with...security"/"mess with...security". He definitely meant to terrorize the entire U.S. as a nation and not state by state.
Even DUmmies aren't that dumb. I think I smell a DUmmie propaganda trick. Could the DUmmies be worried that OBL's threats will backfire with Americans as a nation? Are they hoping some Americans in particular individual American states can be to scared into voting for Kerry to divert attacks to other American states?
*Bush Fights Terror, Kerry Spins It*
REPORTER: Hey Osama, You managed to send terror into the hearts of Americans with your well timed video threatening states that voted for Bush and apparently you singlehandedly helped Kerry to defeat Bush and bring victory to terrorism everywhere! How are you going to celebrate?
OSAMA: I'm going to Disneyland.
ROTFLOL!
Here in the Pacific Nothwest we call Patty Murray (D WA) Osama Momma. After 9/11 Osama Momma (Patty Murray D WA) while speaking to students at a Washington school announced that yes Osama is bad but he builds day centers, we haven't done that (that is why we are bad and they don't like us.)
Here in the Pacific Northwest we call Patty Murray (D WA) Osama Momma. But I guess I already said that.
>> Bin Ladin Threatens More Attacks if Bush Wins
How does Osama explain all those attacks during the Clinton administration, and the planning of 9/11 during the Clinton administration? Weird fellow, huh?
She's going to be re-elected too, isn't she?
I watch C-span 2 a lot when the senate is in session - she can give some lame talks and bring up some lame bills.
Well, well, well .... Islamiosi!
I agree
