Doctors in Ramallah say he most likely has leukemia.
PARIS, France (CNN) -- Palestinian officials close to Yasser Arafat, who is being treated for illness in Paris, told CNN Saturday they have reached the conclusion that the era of Arafat as Palestinian leader is over.

Kerry must have sent a "Get Well Soon" telegram by now.
Arafat is a
I doubt he'd say anything. However I believe the left would be expected by the palis, anyway, to say something. Actually, I can see the clintons going to the funeral.
George W. Bush will win reelection by a margin of at least ten per cent
Yes.
All those terrorists killing each other off with Israel quietly stroking the flames.
What a lovely day in the neighbor hood!
HAPPY LIBERATION DAY !
works for me
but the only part Israel needs to play is eliminating whchever terrorist is ratted out by his other fellow terrorists-may they stay very busy!
I don't drink but if I did I'd drink to that!
How about now?;)
I agree!
There are no Jewish holidays in the month of Heshvan (which we are now in). Hopefully there soon will be...PURIM SHENI!!!!
Actually, things might go better than you think. Both Abbas and Qurei struck me as reasonably sane individuals. They both after all were appointed Prime Minister by Arafat and they both quit in frustration when Arafat tried to use them for marionettes. I may be going out on a limb here but I think the mature inner circle is royally sick of this past decade of thuggery and corruption and the horrific perversion of an entire generation of their "people" and would probably like to be remembered as having imposed something resembling a decent government after this past decade of destruction.
They may take a few weeks working up the courage but you'll
know the Age of Arafat is really over when they quietly request help in rounding up Arafat's embezzled millions and getting ahold of his little black book (there really is one). The best Arafat can do now is linger on for a few months as his flunkeys quietly desert him and his portraits come down. If so, by the time he does croak be prepared to be amazed at the lack of histrionics. If the PA council does act in good faith, expect whole brigades of terrorists and bully boys to find themselves without the funds to continue the struggle.
I forget who said it but wars often end when both sides are just to exhausted to continue. I'll bet a ten-spot that the Palis are a lot more exhausted than they've been letting on.
No matter who is the leader of the fictious Palestinian people they will always be committed to destroying Israel. We should not force Israel to go on the whole merry go round of appeasement negotiations once again.
Both Abbas and Qurei are Terrorists who are just wolves in sheeps clothing. They BOTH have the Blood of Americans and Israelis on their hands!

I never said otherwise. The very fact that Israel has stopped living in dreamland (And I refer to both the kumbaya, buy-their-love dream palace and the "Greater Israel" fantasy camp) and is erecting the security fence and adopting a tough-minded decapitation strike policy along with the fact that the U.S. under George W. has cut off the palis until they start behaving has finally brought it home to them that they are NOT going to win. From here on in, if they want things to improve THEY will have to take initiative. Israel ain't going nowhere.
