Arafats condition should help Bush. He has been saying all along that Arafat could not be counted as a partner in peace with Israel. Clinto had Arafat to the white house MORE than any other foreign political figure and the result was Arafat got this idea that he could impose his will on Israel via the intafata. This will remove him from the equation and give a real CHANCE for a moderate palestinian to emerge and actually begin to control their people and put them on a path towards peace. I am not optomistic about this, but with Arafat in place, there was NO CHANCE, now this is at least some chance. This will help Bush imho

Everyone and their sister. One less homicidal evil demented shoe scrapping in charge is always a good thing.

Will his successor be any better? Good question! But lacking arafat "mystic" he will be easier to remove if he proves to be more SSDD
