About a year ago there was a report that he was having mental problems and they thought it might be Dementia but that the PLO did not know what to do. He had complete authority. This opens the door for new leadership which is hopefully more moderate in its positions.

OR it could be that there will be infighting among the PLO.
Did Arafat ever choose a successor? The PLO might fall apart and join one of the other terrorist organizations.
The PLO exists to create a Palestinian State using land belonging to Israel. This has always puzzled me. There's a lot of land in the Middle East. If the sympathizers wanted the PLO to have land to make a Country/State, why didn't the other Middle Eastern Countries donate land to them? Is it because then there would be no cause for all the anger directed towards Israel? Is it because the other Middle Eastern Countries don't want Israel 'at any cost' to have any land in the Middle East?
My slightly educated guess is that unless there is a very strong personality among the PLO, there's gonna be a lot of infighting and a lot of deaths (probably blamed on someone other than the PLO).

Arafat was an icon to the blood sucking parasites. He was untouchable in more ways than one.
If he is not followed by someone of more moderate persuasion and his scion continues to attack Israel,
Israel will have no compunction about taking them out.
