About a year ago there was a report that he was having mental problems and they thought it might be Dementia but that the PLO did not know what to do. He had complete authority. This opens the door for new leadership which is hopefully more moderate in its positions.

How would the French or cnn be able to tell whether that thug is demented or not?
They themselves are pretty far gone...

In related news the French foreign minister arrived at his hospital bed to surrender this morning and declared Arafat "President for Life of France"

Does CNN have a mourning banner on their screen at all times.
Is Christianne able to control her deep grief?

BREAKING - ARAFAT HAS DEMENTIA
Why is this Breaking News? We've known that Arafat is sick and demented for decades.
I have nothing nice to say about the man. I just hope hell is ready for his arrival.

Bush and Sharon's strategy of isolating Arafat has worked. Had they engaged Arafat as the liberals would have wanted, any deal would have been done by putting a gun to Israel's head. Had there been no deal, the uprising would have been encouraged in support of their 'beloved' Arafat.
Times may be tough ahead depending upon who follows Arafat but the cards have now been shuffled and to a smart poker player like Bush and company, they have an opportunity to play a new and likely winning hand.

The dementia is so advanced, doctors say Arafat is no longer in controll of his faculties. That explains the lack of diaper on is head. They had to use it for its intended purpose.

Believe it or not, Arafat has long been addicted to "Tom and Jerry" cartoons. Perhaps his dementia has existed far longer than was first apparent.

He is probably just low on electrolytes, but the doctors haven't checked that yet. Most llikely potassium.

No surprise there. We always knew he was demented.

"Arafat has dementia "
I guess this means he would be a good candidate for Kerry's intended administration.

How convienent. Too sick to stand trial and if not too demented to understand and therefore unable to be tried. This reminds me of the Godfather character that avoided attacks on his life because everyone thought he was going to die soon anyways.

Some rumors I've seen say "AIDs"--wondering if they're trying to soften the terminology a bit?

Poor MSM and the Kerry camp. Between this story and the OBL tape, the news cycle for the next three days is being sucked up. It will be hard for even 60 minutes to try and throw this election now.
And everything coming out is centered around terrorism...Bush's strong suit.
They must be asking themselves "how does Rove do it?"

In John Kerry's America.... Arafat would be cured through the miracles of embryonic stem cell research.
Too bad for him.
