An Iraqi dad has risked everything to save his 11-month-old daughter's life, first traveling to Baghdad's infamous Abu Ghraib prison (search) to plead for help, then winding up in the United States for his baby's medical care.

The little girl, Tabby, was in surgery Friday in Charleston to remove life-threatening blood tumors called hemangiomas (search), which have caused her face to be excessively swollen and deformed.

At Abu Ghraib, the father met with the U.S. Marines 4th Civil Affairs Group and Navy Cmdr. Dr. Louis Tripoli, who recognized how serious the little girl's condition was.

Bless her heart - I saw the pics earlier today of her severe condition, and I just hope we can help her. What a horrible disease.

The doctors were very confident that they will be able to treat her and cure her.

There was another little Iraqi girl a while ago, with the same condition. Last I read, she was coming along well. I think she was a little older, maybe two years old or so.

Just wanted to make sure you saw this ... a tragic story of a Muslim life the U.S. soldiers are actually trying to save!

I know you'll be hoping the doctors are unsuccessful and this Muslim will die! The only good Muslim is a dead Muslim, right?
