Don't laugh, but I actually agree with what you said.

Politics, especially the activist variety that we practice here on FR is in some ways very barbaric and vicious.

The election cycle never stops anymore, and we are immersed in it 24/7.

Even if (God forbid) Kerry wins, we will immediately shift gears and begin the deconstruction of the new admin and everybody connected to it.

But politics to me is a game. Something to play.

It is not something I take too personally. If I did that, I would not be able to play and still retain my humanity.

Perhaps I have become too numbed by what I have witnessed as I follow the political fortunes and misfortunes of the hundreds I have witnessed rise, only to fall as the result of some devious political ploy.

Kerry is the epitome of a modern politician. He has a face, but it is not real. His life has been sanitized to protect him from foes and his words are scripted, meaningful yet say little for fear of saying too much. He is a phony.

Bush, on the other hand appears real, flesh and blood real. He is not constructed or modified for political reasons. He is the kind of guy you have a beer with.

Because of politics, the other side is reviled by his (Bush's) very existence, threatened by his morality, incited to violence over the very thought of another four years in the white House.< They are forced by the nature of the game to accept Kerry as real and true.P> Somewhere, reality and politics became intertwined inexplicably for the left. They can no longer tell the difference between the game and the reality of life. The game is the life to many of them.

I am not like that, and most on this forum are not either.(Most, not all perhaps)

We know where life and the game begin and end. We are still cogent members of the human race.

I can't say that about the left anymore. Not anymore.

The statement I made was one of a emotional political clarity that come from politics, not my humanity. My human personae knows it is not logical nor does it make sense. But the political side of me reads it as a plus for Bush and the game.

Moreover, he didn't even threaten to blow anything up (based on what I heard on the radio).

I think a review of the comments is in order. Unfortunately, I've only gotten about as far as this thread. There's also the possibility that Other More Interesting Stories might be neglected:

Iran, China sign $100b gas deal

TEHRAN: Iran and China have signed a preliminary accord under which China will buy 10 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) a year for 25 years in a deal worth $100 billion, the ISNA news agency said on Friday. It quoted Hadi Nejad-Hosseinian, the deputy oil minister, as saying the deal could eventually reach 15 to 20 million tonnes a year, taking the total value to $200 billion. Delivery cannot begin for at least another five years though, as Iran must first build the plants to liquefy the natural gas. app/afp

I find that peculiar, don't you? Imagine ... Osama bin Laden being hidden in the keystone Evil Axis nation with whom our Most Favored Friends the Chinese are inking gabillion dollar energy deals. Wow. I guess with all the help Iran's received from the Former Soviets where nuclear power's concerned, they've got natural gas to spare.

Here's a little Reuter's piece. (Do you have a link to a transcript handy?). Lesseeee .... assuming Reuters hit the Highlights, we've got:

Osama bin Laden has accused US President George W Bush of deceiving the American peopleand said the September 11 attacks would not have been so severe if the president had been alert.

Bin Laden also said the United States could face renewed attacks because the reasons for mounting the September 11 strikes still existed.

In an address on Al Jazeera television just days ahead of the US presidential election, bin Laden also said the US administration resembled "corrupt" Arab governments.

NOTE THE DIRECT QUOTE: "It never occurred to us that the commander in chief of the country (Bush) would leave 50,000 citizens in the two towers to face those horrors alone ... because he thought listening to a child discussing her goats was more important," bin Laden said, referring to Bush's visit to a school when the attack occurred.

In his clearest comments yet taking responsibility for the attacks three years ago, he said just days before President George W Bush faces re-election:

FINAL QUOTE"Despite entering the fourth year after September 11, Bush is still deceiving you and hiding the truth from you and therefore the reasons are still there to repeat what happened."

Al Qaeda leader bin Laden said he had first thought of attacking the United States after the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon.

US intelligence agencies believe that it appeared to be bin Laden on the tape, one official said. Bin Laden appeared to be sitting or standing at a table against a neutral brown background. He wore a round, white head covering and white tunic under a light brown cloak. Reading from a sheet of paper, his voice was strong and he appeared in fair health, his full beard a mixture of white and dark grey. At times he gestured at the camera with his right index finger to emphasise points.

Evidently the goat thing's been eating him for four years or he just recently saw Michael Moore's movie. I think the full paragraph quote midway deserves a Significant.

Twice he mentions how Bush has deceived us.

Additionally, single mentions include:

Yeah ... I think a person could learn a lot about Osama's priorities by picking apart what appears to be most important to him after four years of stewing in hiding.

You'd think the destruction of irreplaceable religious monuments, sacking of Arab libraries, "collateral damage" or maybe even issue a warning or two to those who -- taking their lives in their hands to be sure -- make the mistake of volunteering for policeman duties only to be blown up by terrorists on Osama's side.

I'll be interested in the full transcript. Given the Election Timing of the video, I'm just certain he must have included a Word-Up to his homies in Iraq and Afghanistan. I bet they feel pretty stupid for risking their hides only to have Osama himself come out swinging like a queen and crabbing like some Michael Moore redux.

Stepheni Tubbs interview

Chrissy

Get over it, four more years. The man you have been shilling for is a looser. Representative Tubbs is another reason the blacks don't have a clue when they are voting. She needs to pull her obviously ignorant head out of her huge butt and take a look at what is happening around her. Remember Democrats are famous for keeping their lackeys down on the plantation. Hand them bits and crumbs and make them think that they should have loyalty to their Sheeted Democratic Grand Masters. As an individual I have no respect for you.

Nicely put. I agree it is a game, albeit, a serious one. The left lives and dies with this because of the great advances they have made in recent decades.

Funny how they want to blow us up as the Great Satan, but they have no problem snuggling up with godless Communists. But then again, the Communists helped bring the Ayatollahs into power.

Now run along to the bathroom (if you've got the guts to go by yourself) and see if Sinkspur's around to come help you defend the premise of Osama bin Laden and threats against innocent people as in any way "helpful" to an election among Free Men impervious to Fearmongering.

Your boy Kerry is going down, Askel5. binLaden shows in this silly tape that he needs killin'.

bin Laden hates Bush. He shows it in this tape. He'd much rather have Lurch in office, compromising and negotiating and figuring out a way to avoid any violence.

"the Bush Administration is just as corrupt as the those of the Arabs, (we share fault)"

It also means he thinks the Saudis are more like us than like him. Now there's a deep thought to ponder a while.

My take is that china has huge problems with pollution. It could be that within five years they will be able to shift to natural gas on a large number of power plants, from the current coal and fuel oil burning units.

This is exactly what we have experienced, and natural gas contracts are difficult to come by due to the shortage.

It makes sense to create a new supplier. that is what China has done.

I do not know what China's own situation is with gas availability, but it sounds like they are a bit short.

"Al Qaeda leader bin Laden said he had first thought of attacking the United States after the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon."

Also very interesting. OBL is upset that the Israelis battled the PLO, the Syrians, and Iran in Lebanon. All three were Soviet clients, and funded/carried out terrorist acts on the Soviet's behalf.

Don't laugh, but I actually agree with what you said.

I'm not laughing at all, believe me. And I appreciate what you have to say. Not so very long ago, I'd have posted much the same way.

I guess the thing I'd caution you against is putting too much emphasis on the Left v. Right thing. I think it's a false premise. There are others who make the case far better than I and perhaps I can collect some of their words to better illustrate what I'm saying.

In lieu of that, just understand that it's my being so "myopic" about the issues of human life and even the Blood Trail (which turned out to be far more closely connected to programs of population control than I'd ever have dreamed five years ago) that have led me to where I am today.

Fact of the matter is that the Truth is out there ... in these really obscure places like the Congressional Record where -- if you read back far enough -- you'll find that it was the GOP who laid out the Democrats' talking points on environment, depopulation and even the economic disparity that called for a federal legalizing of this particular form of homicide.

Yeah, I'm "issues" oriented but I don't think that it gets more meaningful than a man's take on God and on the dignity of life ... EVERY human life. As if all men were created equal ... despite the Appearances by which a Terri Schiavo is dehumanized as a "vegetable" while folks can't throw enough money at Madonna or Michael Jackson or the starts of sports, porn, films and other wholly Mindless Entertainment by which WE end up the couch potatoes sucking food through a tube with eyes that can no longer see. I think the Constitution is only as durable as as the self-evident truths of the Declaration which give sense to that framework for a constitutional republic.

(What IS all this talk of democracy? Doesn't anyone remember the horror our founding fathers and de Toqueville had for the volonte generale or a people who thought to vote on virtue?)

That's why I can't participate in a system which systematically strips God -- author of our inalienable rights -- from the public square and our Private Lives and who plays God in some egalitarian attempt to make male the same as female, heterosexual the same as homosexual, and provide through technology a more perfectly culled and formed People.

And I think we'd all be much better off were we to realize right now that it's truly Life or Death and the rest is just a house of mirrors.

Particularly given the "Litmus Tests" of the moral relativists which trump every time the "personally opposed, but ..." great compromisers of Objective Reality, it's as if our political system has become a Midway in which folks carefully pick and choose among the lesser of the evil carnies, and the more glitzy of the Promised Prizes, reserving their horror for bearded ladies and other dimly-lighted freaks proffered by the press and counting on the fact they'll get a couple of coupons out of the deal good for a thrill ride or two so as to feel "alive" and take in the "big picture" of the Carnival's spectacle, before the night's over.

I always preferred the livestock barns at the Fair myself. The Midway made me nervous ... like I was going to lose one of my family members in the Hustle. I guess some things never change. =)

Look ... that left:right thing's been on my mind quite a lot lately. Maybe next week sometime when the dust has settled a bit, I can pull something together on the subject. I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Night, Cold Heat.

What an image for a First Lady. Can you imagine Laura being photographed like this?

I've been thinking that pic of Tercrazya should be circulated around churches on Sun. Those church ladies thinking of voting for sKerry might think twice seeing what they'd get for First Lady if (God forbid) he won.

Don't exclude the obvious, that he is defending Islam against western influences and/or Democracy.

This has been his theme since the beginning. He is building another Islamic power base in the mold of Mohamed.

His ire toward the House of Saud and The King of Jordan is more of a personal problem with the regimes. He already has most of the people.

Bush wants a Democratic world, OBL an Islamic one. Kerry is a appeaser who fits right into the plan and the U.N.

Bush may be the only man that could derail or set back his dreams for another millennium.

As the Crusaders did.
