Statement by Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, M.D.
George W. Bush ^ | October 29, 2004

Posted on 10/29/2004 4:17:02 PM PDT by RWR8189

What we have seen this week is an effort by John Kerry to exploit our armed forces, who are engaged in conflict, for political gain without knowing the full facts. The United States cannot afford to elect someone as commander in chief who jumps to conclusions, blames his troops, and doesn't believe in the justness of our cause.

Worse yet, just as he voted against funds for the troops under political pressure from Howard Dean, John Kerry has demonstrated again this week that he is willing to say and do anything if he sees a political opportunity. We don't need an opportunist in the White House; a Nation at war demands resoluteness.

John Kerry accusations portray our military as incompetent, when what is clear from the statement of Major Pearson today at the Pentagon that our troops have done an exceptional job, in a dangerous environment, of securing and destroying over 400,000 tons of weapons and ammunition---over 1000 times the amount purportedly missing.

John Kerry and the media have been borderline irresponsible in running away with this story before they understood the whole truth, and they are leaving out the 400,000 tons of weapons and explosives that have been secured and destroyed and are no longer a threat to the world.

The United States needs a Commander in Chief who is straightforward, unflappable, and resolute. George Bush is that type of commander.

Sen. Frist forgot to say "Senator Kerry portrays himself as worthy to be the next Commander in Chief, yet recently obtained documentation PROVES his service in the United States military resulted in a less-than-honorable separation. The United States cannot allow a war criminal to be elected to the highest office in the country. His most notable record is one of denigration and degradation of our military services, which started when he was a young man and continues to this very day!! More will follow......."

I've liked Frist ever since his work killing the Clinton Ugly Gun Ban renewal. Now I like him even more. I wish he was my Senator instead of the crapweasels I'm stuck with. Oh well, at least I have another chance to vote Wyden out again (like it will ever actually happen, more's the pity).

At least you don't have Patty Murray!! I just hope Osama's surfacing sinks her, given that Nethercutt's been running radio spots where you hear her talking about Osama built hospitals, day cares, etc.

"...Nethercutt's been running radio spots where you hear her talking about Osama built hospitals, day cares, etc."

This ought to give Nethercutt at least 10 points, and get rid of the Witch Murray!

I think I've suggested Frist for 2008 before. Putting him and Condi on the ticket would make a conservative, America-first brain trust for leading our country into the next decade. He impressed me at the convention, and he interviewed well with the NRA in American Rifleman. He understands our medical care issues and is 100% behind us on the second amendment. He's articulate, patriotic, and full of character. I also think he's able to collaborate with people who have differing points of view.

He certainly could have shown more testicular fortitude in running the Senate. He was way to nice to the 'Rats on a number of things, including confirming judges.

Frist - 2008!

He'd get my vote, but I don't think many others. He's too obscure for the Average American Voter, and with Democrat Vote Fraud Registration Drives, the American Voter is becoming more "average" (approaching "special") by the minute. Besides, Senators historically have failed to achieve the presidency. And that's a trend I'm not sure I want to see broken any time in the near future.

HOW does he continually get away with this? Oh yeah, he's a Democrat.

I wonder if they consider Mitch McConnell conservative enough?

Frist's rating is the same as McConnel's.

We could do far worse than Dr. Frist in '08 - Rudy Giuliani, for example!
There's a pro-abortion, pro-big-government (Sorry George!), pro-gun-control big city liberal if ever there was on!
