On a local Milwaukee news station WISN - Kerry was asked to respond to the new Bin-Laden tape and bits of it were played for him and he actually had the gall to say something to the effect of:
"Well, if Bush hadn't let him get away in Tora Bora..."
Can you believe this? After he praised the mission at the time! After Tommy Franks was very clear that no one was sure he was there. After he knows we had Special Forces in there!
He uses this awful veriled threat to score political points!
I've heard Holbrooke and Begala both say this on CNN.
There needs to be a backlash. This feeds right into "he'll say anything..."
Awaiting a transcript.
Nothing was preventing Kerry from taking his 4 month Vietnam experience to Afghanistan and capturing Bin Laden himself if he thinks it was as easy as he says.
:-)
listeniing to fox all afternoon, didn't hear this.
carl cameron just said it 5 minutes ago...chill
Thought I'd bring this post over here

From Fox News: Kerry origionally thought out-sourcing the hunt to catch Bin Laden by the war lords in Afghanistan was a good idea....big flip flop!
This whole thing will fall to Bush's advantage, imo.

I have no words..............
Here's how Carl Cameron reported it:
part of the problem with osama bin laden was that the president didn't actually capture him when he was trapped in the tora bora mountains during the war in afghanistan, suggesting that senator kerry believe there is may be vulnerability to the president for this if american voters believe that the president didn't capture him. It should be noted that at the time senator kerry said that "outsourcing to the afghan war lords" seemed to be a fairly good way of capturing osama bin laden, though it didn't worK

So predictable
Fox is reporting on it now....stand down.
Tora Bora. We Tora big ahole for a Bora. Lets tear another ahole for Kerry. I think that every time he says this it may play with the Howard Dean Crowd but for most of American it is arm chair quarterbacking and trashing the troops. Everyone knows that the Generals decided what to do based on what the elite special forces thought. To slam Bush, he slams the Generals and the troops and that brings back echoes of Viet Nam. Then when he says "I will hunt down, I will ......" it sounds phony and fake, but of course he is phoney and fake and OBL's dream president.
From your lips to the voters ears.
Hey, this is fer real. They played it on CNN.
I'm not kidding about this. I just emailed NRO as well.
This bag of $hit cannot be allowed to get away with that oh-so presidential statement on the tarmac being the only thing he said.
On the tarmac it was "we are united." On WISN it was trash, lie, and spin!
he cannot get away with this!
I'll believe it when I see it. He's an ass, but I think he'd know better than to say that right out of the gate. I'd love to be wrong though!
I take this to mean that Severin was out of his mind for his initial prediction, and has spent the last few days waiting for the right opportunity to present itself for him to change his mind.
I think the circle closes, the foreign leader that Kerry said wants him to win probably first made contact when he was in Tora Bora.He didn`t learn so surely about his presence there from attending senate intelligence committee meetings.
Actually Kerry and Bin Laden are related-compare their snouts.
You tag teaming now,,,I am listeniing and that was not reported.
Dont ever tell me to chill newbie,,you haven't earned the right.
Yep ... I should have known better
"wow, that didn't take long. I thought he would wait at least until Sunday or Monday to go after this."
He can't help himself. Seems he has absolutely no self-control. Thinking of only HIMSELF and how to USE this for his personal & political gain. Another stark contrast to Pres. Bush...
