Bin Laden obviously wants Kerry elected because of his personal attacks on Bush. That helps Bush.
Kerry had the election in hand two weeks ago, jumped on the explosives thing, and made Iraq and terror "the" issues and that means a Bush victory.
Clinton went on Primetime Live, mentioned Kerry once, cuz he wanted to suck the air out of the election and hurt Kerry. Clinton could've waitied a week.
Tape helps Bush. It puts all the focus on Bin Laden and it becomes an election of issues not men.

Earlier this year, Morris said there was no way Bush could win. I guess he didnt plan on Kerry campaigning like an idiot.
Bush will say "This reminds us the world is a dangerous place and we must stay the course." He has said this countless times, so he will appear credible and reassuring.
What can Kerry say that will be equally believable? He changes his positions often to prove reassurance.

Whatever you may say about Morris's atuteness as a political guru, when it comes to political analysis, Osama is no Dick Morris!
Assume for the point of argument that If McAuliffe says that, and it is true, McAuliffe would be admitting that Rove is a much better political operative that he is.

Actually Kerry was the best candidate Clinton could have hoped for. He is so pathetic he makes Clinton look good in comparison (well sorta).
I have to say that earlier this year I was skeptical whether Bush could win. Considering all the bad media on Enron, whose to blame for 9/11, our economic struggles because of the attack, the difficulties in Iraq, etc etc. We all know Bush has handled these quite well, but the way the media and the democrats manipulate the facts, people have been bombarded with BS. This gives me faith in our country.
It was funny I was talking with my friend in NY on my cell phone just as Morris was talking.
The first point Morris made was the first point I had made to my friend, only I beat Morris by about 45 seconds - that is, using 'street' rules, a guy who talks about giving you a whipping is usually not serious about giving you that whipping.
Talk is cheap - read bad@sses just do the deed and leave you bleeding. Bin Ladin chose to send a videotape because he doesn't have the muscle on the ground to score a violent hit.
So he talks, instead. In Spain his goons scored a violent hit, because they could. In the USA, that's not an option (for now), so all he can do is trashtalk.
Morris used almost exactly the same examples I did! Which doesn't make me proud, it worries me. The next thing, I'll feel this strong compulsion to suck on a willing prostitute's toes. :-)

1. My guess is that a lot of working class Reagan Democrats who might be wavering because of economic issues are just the sort of people you don't want to threaten.
2. This either scares people or they realize that Al Qaeda probably wouldn't be making a tape if they had been able to line up an actual terror strike. Either way is good for Bush: either people think again who they trust most to defend the country, or they realize Bush has done a pretty good job of it so far.
Morris is nothing but a political opportunist, but he got it mostly right on this tape thing.
There is still time for an attack, but to be honest, I don't think Americans would cower from it. They would still elect Bush, if not to just spit back in their eye. The euros may be pacifists, but we like a good fight. We're the alpha male of the civilized world.
Unfortunately, that begs the comment: He has not yet won.
