TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ A feeding tube for a severely brain-damaged woman can't be removed until appeals are exhausted in her parents' fight to have a new trial in the long-running right-to-die case, a judge ruled Friday.
An attorney for Schiavo's husband, Michael, said the order could mean months and possibly years of delay and he would seek to have it overturned. ``What everyone with any common sense should realize is this case has been mulled over time and time again,'' attorney George Felos said. ``To permit endless stays for endless appeals is simply a miscarriage of justice.''
At issue is a request for a new trial by Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, who say if their daughter indeed did not want to be kept alive artificially, as her husband says, she no longer would have that wish given recent statements from the pope.
Terri Schiavo was raised Catholic and would, if she could, accept recent comments from Pope John Paul II that a person in a persistent vegetative state still has the right to nutrition and hydration and to withhold it would be a sin, her parents contend. Pinellas Circuit Judge George Greer earlier ruled that was not a sufficient basis for a trial, but the Schindlers are appealing. A previous stay by Greer was to expire Dec. 6.
Terri Schiavo collapsed from a chemical imbalance due to an eating disorder 14 years ago and left no written directive. A second court stay is in effect until Nov. 29, while Gov. Jeb Bush appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court over whether he overstepped his authority in pushing through a state law that reconnected Terri Schiavo's feeding tube last year.

From the article: "Terri Schiavo collapsed from a chemical imbalance due to an eating disorder ..." Is there even a shred of medical proof for this assertion?
:') Which judge was this?
Judge George Greer
Wow. I thought maybe he was overruled or something.
How can George W. Greer be ruling contrary to what George Felos says? This may or may not mean a thing, but it does look like Terri will live to see her "husband" enjoy his Christmas celebration this year. So much for her celebration though.
Statement of Schindler Family
Today, we are filled with a sense of relief and of hope that our daughter's due process rights have been protected. We hope to pursue Terri's civil and religious liberties through appeal and are grateful that the process has not been circumvented. We feel utterly confident that Terri would do the same for any member of our family if the tables were turned and we know that protecting her life and her rights is the right thing to do.

My exact thoughts! I wonder if the parents have explored this area, to revisit the cause of collapse. The whole premise of her medical problems.
I have seen photographs of Terri, and she certainly did not look like she had Anorexia.
Thank the Good Lord. Can't help but believe He is listening and answering our prayers!
More good news. What a red-letter day.
Keeping her in my prayers.
In any event, I'm glad she gets to see another day. And I hope these delay tactics continue ad infinitum, he can't be allowed to decide her fate. He just can't. Her fate and time should be left to and for The Lord.
Child of God...
We pray those judicial sinners...
Do not cause the hour of thy death...
Amen !!!

So, temporarily, Judge Greer takes off his villain hat. We will keep the eye on the additional objective of getting Terri out of Hospice where she is surrounded by people who are dying (per her dad).
I got some more campaign material today. The Florida Senate President Designee is TOM LEE. The Florida House Speaker Designee is ALLAN BENSE. It's not too early to start emailing and calling them. The hurricane session is in DECEMBER. Let's try again for another SB 692 which would protect ALL DISABLED FLORIDIANS. (Webster's bill that Jim King wouldn't allow to the Senate floor).
I think maybe it is starting to work that we are shunning his GOP friends here in Pinellas by not voting straight GOP. If they are Greer's friends, I'm voting for their opponent. Or, maybe Greer's conscious is starting to bother him, having to think about sin and the eternal damnation which he has the authority to send Terri to unless the laws are changed or Jeb wins a trial from the SCOTUS.
no
bttt and ping.
In any case, Michael Schiavo should no longer be permitted to be her guardian. He has publicly revealed his sadism and distrain for Terri and her family and has vested interet to have Terri die.
Not surprisingly Michael Schiavo remains in a frenzy to have her die.
Terri ping!
If anyone would like to be on/off my Terri ping list, please let me know here or by FReepmail.
God bless these brave souls! My prayers go out to them and Terri, as they continue to navigate their way through this horrendous nightmare.
And may our Lord bless each and every one of you who valiantly stand behind Terri's right to life!
