Lipscomb promptly responded to my e-mail question about Navy Chief's claim:

In other words, while I DO NOT believe Navy Chief is lying.....he has been extremely reliable....as of yet, it appears Chief has not passed on the word to Lipscomb, perhaps because he is working other sources right now.
BTW, I will e-mail my full headers to anyone who questions whether this e-mail is real.
Again, I am not saying Chief is lying.....in fact I believe he is telling the truth as he always has.
But, he is probably working other sources right now and, at least by the time he e-mailed me, had not passed the info on to Lipscomb.
Let's hold our fire and our e-mails for now.

I'd say TODAY is the LAST day for any type of negative stuff to come out that will be taken seriously even the tinyest bit.
