See my post #98. Official released navy documents say otherwise. If you read his 1972 transfer into the Standby Reserves, you will notice that Kerry was automatically transferred into the Standby Reserves from the Ready Reserves. I hope there are documents in his file to substantiate the allegation that he received a less than Honorable Discharge, but without such proof all we have are the exsisting documents, which show that he received an Honorable Discharge in 1978.

Which is exactly what got Navy Chief latched onto the story. Kerry wasn't "scheduled" to get discharged in 1978. His actual discharge would have been before that, based on his term of enlistment. The one that happened in 1978 was "in addition to" his alreay existing discharge.
