I agree with others who say it is best for W to stay clear of this story... It's too late for it to take hold and will only come off as a desperate last attempt hit. Most importantly, we don't need it. W now has the big MO, Kerry just had his version of an October surprise explode in his face. The polls will begin to show a momentus shift towards W thru the weekend.

No one would get blamed, except Kerry for misleading everyone. Upgrades were almost automatic if your original discharge was related to protesting the war. I don't imagine that Kerry was given any special favor, other than hiding his original record.
